Engineer, Electrical Engineering
Provides New product and sustaining engineering (including DFx) support for a specific product or group of products from pre-concept commit through end of life. Collaborate with design, process, test and reliability engineering to solve problems.
Sustains products with cost reduction and design related yield improvements.
Job Description:
- Perform New product and Sustaining engineering
- DFx: DFM, DFR, DFSC, DFT
- Value engineering (component selection, process efficiency, and design changes)
- BOM structuring and BOM risk Management.
- Design tool proficiency (DFx, schematic, CAD, other CAE tools)
- Cost avoidance (pre-A0) and sustaining cost reduction
- Design lab experimentation / debug (proficiency continuum) / DOE /EFA
- Technical lifecycle management (defect reduction team participation, new component qualification, etc)
- Assessing CM and supply chain technical capability gaps
- Knowledge and application of industry innovations / trends to product or program
- Creating, analyzing, and releasing product documentation
- Manufacturing (Process), FMEA
- Design FMEA
- Design diagnostic analysis and input / influence
- Leadership and direction of complex issue resolution
Skills required:
Very good understanding on Electronic product design and architecture
Good understanding of Hardware interfaces – High speed serial interfaces, PCIE, Ethernet, SATA, I2C etc
Knowledge of PCB design and Allegro
Knowledge of Valor and DFM is a Plus
Knowledge of PCBA Manufacturing, System Build and NPI process
Knowledge of Product development process from concept to launch phase
Expected to lead cross-functional Teams
Strong communication skills both verbal and written
Conflict resolution & a problem solver, decision making & an influencer
Presentation skills
Flexibility to work in various time zones is important
