- Provide Engineering and Operational ownership of the Wireless Packet Core network.
- Perform the role of Domain Expert to operate packet core platform and services.
- Participate in design/engineering discussions of wireless engineering platforms and partner with adjacent teams (Cisco IOT SaaS platform, PGW/GGSN, Product Management team, etc).
- Drive continuous improvement by constantly enhancing our process/documentation/tools/etc related to PGW platform.
- Chip into designing complex real-time Policy and Charging service solutions for Wireless IoT Devices based on Enterprise requirementsts.
- Provide partner concern support 7x24 as needed for services/platforms.
WHO YOU ARE - MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Possess a BA/BS degree or university equivalent
- Possess 7+ years of experience in the following areas:
Experience engineering and operating complex, highly scalable, always-on systems and solutions.
Solid foundation in networking fundaments and Linux system administration.
Intermediate-level scripting experience (Python / Perl / Shell / Ansibe / Other).
Relevant experience in Mongo DB (NoSQL)
Strong knowledge of Mobility and Radio Access Network platforms for both LTE and 5G Technologies.
ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS - PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS. (THIS IS CONSIDERED A PLUS FACTOR)
- 5G experience though not mandatory is highly preferred.
- Previous experience with any vendor’s Packet Gateway and PCRF/ OCS solution is a plus.
- Strong hands-on experience with: Cisco Mobility SOlution & Mobile packet core products is strongly preferred.
- Experience in VMWare and OpenStack is a plus
- Advanced scripting and Web UI internal tool development is a plus

When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco pays at the standard rate of 1% of incentive target for each 1% revenue attainment against the quota up to 100%. Once performance exceeds 100% quota attainment, incentive rates may increase up to five times the standard rate with no cap on incentive compensation. For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
