The Military in Sales and Leadership Program
What You'll Do
Cisco has a long history of valuing diversity, which includes the unique experiences that a background in the military provides. The Military in Sales and Leadership Program was crafted to serve as the bridge between high potential military talent and a career in Sales at Cisco.
Those selected for the MISL Program will begin in Cisco’s Ignite! Training Program, providing 8-12 weeks of education on Cisco technologies and sales methodologies. Upon completion of Ignite, you will step into a Virtual Sales Account Manager (VSAM) or Virtual Sales Specialist (VSS) role, collaborating with customers to understand their challenges and provide desired business outcomes. You will also be the coordinator of a Cisco team, pulling in the subject matter specialists to help you develop the solution that your customer needs.
In addition, MISL team members will have supplemental training and support from a network of Veteran’s on the team, intended to help smooth the transition and translate your skills quickly and effectively. MISL employees will have the opportunity to attend professional development sessions with key leaders throughout Cisco, growing their professional network and adding to their perspective on the career opportunities within the organization. After a year in the VSAM position, MISL hires will be eligible to consider and highly competitive for new opportunities within Cisco.

To be eligible for this program, you must:
- Be transitioning from the Military or have less than 2 years’ work experience post Military.
- Be a top performer in your field.
- Have a drive and passion to learn, grow, and make a difference.
- Proven track record of taking the initiative to solve problems.
- Possess the aptitude to succeed in a Sales career.
- Desire to grow and expand their career at Cisco.
- Able to relocate to the Raleigh – Durham area.
MISL Candidates will be evaluated by seasoned Military Veterans that understand your background and can articulate your skills. The MISL team consists of a diverse cross section of the military with a variety of backgrounds from both the Officer and Enlisted ranks, to include:
