What You'll Do

The Global Virtual Sales and Engineering organization has developed the Accelerate Program to provide an opportunity for top candidates to join the Cisco Sales Team and quickly ramp up their productivity. Top performers with transferable skills will experience an 8-week training cycle that is comprised of two phases:

 

Classroom

Traditional classroom training will be managed by the Career Acceleration Group, covering topics such as Cisco’s organization, sales segmentation, and sales methodologies. Additionally, introductory overviews of Cisco architecture will help orient new sellers on what our key offerings are, as well as how to leverage Cisco’s extensive resources to support your customers. 

 

Once you complete classroom training, you will move into a Virtual Sales Account Manager role supporting your segment. Day to day activities while in a support role will include: 

 

• Serve as a Strategic Resource for the Sales Team, helping the team achieve goal. 
• Focus on driving active sales campaigns for specialty products such as Umbrella, Meraki, WebEx, and more.
• Participate in and lead client demos.
• Develop relationships with partners and clients, activating accounts. 
• Help the sales team identify and develop enterprise agreement opportunities. 
• Seek the opportunity to cross sell within active accounts. 

 

Upon completion of the program, Accelerate Virtual Sales Account Managers will be considered for open VSAM roles within their segment.

We serve our customer life-cycle through a series of selling motions to drive higher value and an optimal experience from Cisco solutions.

Requirements for Consideration

• Outstanding results over 4+ years of sales experience or professional work experience in a related field.
• Passionate about sales and building positive relationships.
• High interest in the technology industry with a strong desire to learn. 
• History of career progression and desire for professional development.
• Strong business acumen and can effectively communicate a value proposition to your customer base. 
• Exceptional written and oral communications skills. The role requires the ability to understand and clearly articulate the business benefits our products and services
• Thrive in a team environment and enjoy sharing ideas and best practices.
• Take pride in your positive and upbeat energy.
• Flexible and resilient problem solver. Our strongest teammates have a sense of urgency to resolve issues.

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
• Experience at a Vendor or a Competitor.
• You've got experience owning the full sales cycle (prospecting, customer demos, negotiating and closing the sale).
• You are able to demonstrate strong sales achievement ie. consistent achievement at or above quota, or a history YoY growth in your target market.
• You have a broad understanding of Cisco’s competitive landscape with deeper understanding of our top 2-3 competitors
• You have demonstrated informal leadership such as thought-leadership, mentoring, etc and a strong desire to succeed not only as an individual but as a team
• Experience with Salesforce.com
