About the Role
In today's rapidly evolving business landscape, organizations are increasing IT budgets in a focused drive towards innovation and growth. With this surge in spending comes a greater demand for accountability and demonstrable value. The ThousandEyes Value Acceleration team plays a crucial role in this ecosystem by partnering with customers to identify, measure, and articulate the substantial impact of ThousandEyes' solutions. As a Value Acceleration Consultant, you will be instrumental in bridging the gap between technology and business strategy. Your role will involve deep engagement with customers to explore how the visibility and insights provided by ThousandEyes can be leveraged to drive efficiency, mitigate risks, and support informed decision-making.
This position requires a sophisticated understanding of both the technical underpinnings of IT and the strategic objectives of businesses. You will be responsible for translating the technical capabilities of our tools into clear, strategic business benefits that resonate with stakeholders at all levels. By doing so, you will help our customers fully realize the potential of their IT investment and ensure that ThousandEyes remains an indispensable part of their operational framework.
This work will span the different functional areas of our companies (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Corp Dev, Finance, Ops, and Product). Work is non-routine and complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills across our domain.
What You’ll Do
- Work closely with prospective customers and sales to identify, prioritize and quantify key business drivers (metrics) and understand how our solutions will help solve their problems
- Facilitate Executive Alignment with clients on the program business case
- Support qualitative and quantitative analysis in support of targeted opportunities
- Incorporate customer specific data points and findings
- Validate messaging is aligned with customer value themes
- Understand, refine and refresh existing value realization methods and tools
- Identify target operational and financial metrics impacted by potential solution and then use these metrics to develop ROI / Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models to quantify the strategic value of ThousandEyes platform
- Assist with developing value messaging associated with targeted opportunities
- Support, train, and enable the tribe to build a practice competency around business value
- Guide sales teams on the scope and types of data / discovery needed to prove value hypothesis
- Manage library of Value assets include items such as spreadsheets, presentation templates, case examples, and customer stories.
- Process and analyze data collected by sales teams
- Create reusable assets to help scale the team's reach across the greater organization
- Harvest "best practice" techniques leveraged across regions
- Demonstrate the ability to foster teamwork while working on projects
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently with little supervision when needed
Qualifications
- Business model understanding across a wide array of industries
- Experience with financial analysis and investment modelling
- Broad understanding of sales process and MEDDPICC
- 4+ years of professional experience, ideally in consultative, strategic, and analytical customer-facing roles.
- Poised executive presence, adept presentation/facilitation skills, and comfort in collaborating with and presenting to C-suite executives.
- Prior experience in a Sales environment or interactions with Sales teams.
- Previous experience with value management platforms like Ecosystems, Cuvama, ValueCloud or Mediafly

U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Non-Exempt new hires accrue up to 16 days of vacation time off each year, at a rate of 4.92 hours per pay period. Exempt new hires participate in Cisco’s flexible Vacation Time Off policy, which does not place a defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use, but is subject to availability and some business limitations. All new hires are eligible for Sick Time Off subject to Cisco’s Sick Time Off Policy and will have eighty (80) hours of sick time off provided on their hire date and on January 1st of each year thereafter. Up to 80 hours of unused sick time will be carried forward from one calendar year to the next such that the maximum number of sick time hours an employee may have available is 160 hours. Employees in Illinois have a unique time off program designed specifically with local requirements in mind. All employees also have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:
.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;
1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;
1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
