Test Engineer

We are looking for a Test engineer to join our engineering team in Krakow, Poland.

Role and Responsibilities

As a member of the team, your focus will be on testability and tooling. You will work closely with our test lead, our greater quality control-team, the infrastructure team, and development engineering to achieve requirements and acceptance criteria in new feature development.

You will explore and develop needs and methods to move us towards our vision and actively drive new initiatives based on our agenda.

The Team

Our larger team is an experienced network automation organization, the makers of Cisco NSO and part of the Cisco Crosswork portfolio, and we working on a product that will help operators automate their networks more efficiently.

We are inspired by agile methodologies and always seek to improve how we do things on every level of the product organization. The products we build are revolutionizing network automation on a global scale and are pushing organizations, network equipment vendors and ourselves forward with higher and higher demands on speed and usability. Our customers are building nationwide and global networks using our automation software in multiple layers of the infrastructure, from low level transport to compound service offerings for consumers and businesses.

Who You Are

  • Experienced test engineer, with the ability to both plan and implement tests
  • Deeply interested and have hands on experience in test on several levels and aspects. E.g., from unit test to e2e
  • Familiar to discuss functional, non-functional, parameterized, property based, scenario, simulation vs real., performance, stability, variants etc.
  • Knowledge but not necessarily certified in ISTQB or similar, the weight in the role is to improve the continuous managing of scope and measure towards set targets rather than using a certain standard or process
  • Always thinking how to get the most value from the test we do in terms of cost for maintaining, building environments in relation to what confidence in quality it gives
  • Strong in structure and can document and explain why certain risk-based choices are made

Our minimum requirements for this role

  • BSc in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a test automation engineer
  • Proficient in test methodologies and test frameworks
  • Experience with automated UI testing (preferably Selenium)
  • Test automation experience (preferably Golang)
  • Experience with Python, bash, or other scripting languages
  • Communicative English

Desired skills

  • Experience with network automation and/or a curiosity about networking
  • Experience working in Linux/Unix environments and in GIT
  • Familiarity with Jenkins deployments, pipelines, and configuration
  • Analytical approach and problem-solving skills

For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
