You’ll collaborate extensively with Infrastructure teams, Global Risk and Compliance, Security and Trust, Networking, and Application teams to create and implement security policy. You will work with engineers, leaders, and executives across these areas.

What you will do

You will be responsible for leading engineers in both Cloud Infrastructure and Security.

You will lead a software engineering team that develops capabilities for the Cloud Infrastructure and Container platform running Cisco’s critical business applications. The software engineers, developing primarily in Python and Golang, extend several products in the area of IaaS and containers into the architecture of a managed cloud platform at Cisco. These areas include IaaS orchestration with OpenStack and VMware and container orchestration with Kubernetes/Openshift, authentication, network architectures, storage solutions, monitoring, policy management, upgrades, patching, log management, alerting, dashboards, and security. You will be working on enabling these capabilities in a multi-cloud platform.

Your secondary responsibility will be to drive Security inside Cisco IT infrastructure. You will lead our Security Kanban team of Prime Security Advocates. You will help set and implement policy across Cisco IT infrastructure. You will work with Security and Trust to determine areas of improvement and work with engineers to develop solutions. You’ll be responsible for validating our security posture for patching, vulnerability scanning, software development, and opensource software. You will be a primary point of contact for security issues, creating incident response plans, leading the team on discovery, level of impact, and implementing solutions.

You’ll be responsible for maintaining security awareness training and validating that teams are meeting minimum requirements for training.

You will be responsible for driving security into all aspects of Cisco IT engineering including code development. Integrating good coding practices, integrated scans with tools like SonarQube and Qualys, reviewing code analytics to make sure issues are being addressed before release, and ensuring all security requirements before a feature is released. Drive strategy, define and maintain the roadmap for the adoption, expansion, and integration of the security monitoring platforms. Provide leadership for incident response investigations, coordinate response activity and brief senior leaders while maintaining high integrity and confidentiality

You will be responsible for employee performance management. Setting goals, reviews, and weekly check-ins. Ensuring engineers are following Agile practices and participating in their scrums. Tracking engineer velocity and validating that work is matching the scrum priorities.

Why Cisco

#WeAreCisco, where each person is unique, but we bring our talents to work as a team and make a difference powering an inclusive future for all.

We embrace digital, and help our customers implement change in their digital businesses. Some may think we’re “old” (39 years strong) and only about hardware, but we’re also a software company. And a security company. We even invented an intuitive network that adapts, predicts, learns and protects. No other company can do what we do – you can’t put us in a box!

But “Digital Transformation” is an empty buzz phrase without a culture that allows for innovation, creativity, and yes, even failure (if you learn from it.)

Day to day, we focus on the give and take. We give our best, give our egos a break, and give of ourselves (because giving back is built into our DNA.) We take accountability, bold steps, and take difference to heart. Because without diversity of thought and a dedication to equality for all, there is no moving forward.

So, you have colorful hair? Don’t care. Tattoos? Show off your ink. Like polka dots? That’s cool. Pop culture geek? Many of us are. Passion for technology and world changing? Be you, with us!

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. Once performance exceeds 100% quota attainment, incentive rates may increase up to five times the standard rate with no cap on incentive compensation. For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
