Technical Solutions Architect's (TSA) main responsibility is to provide technical mentorship and sales support on the Cisco Security Solution Portfolio. Candidates should have expertise around Network Security (including NGFW/NGIPS), Network Visibility and Enforcement (Stealthwatch or similar, Identity Services Engine and Anyconnect VPN) Cloud security (Email, Web, Anti-Spam, Cloudlock, Umbrella, WSA/CWS) and Advanced Threat Solutions such as Advanced Malware Protection (AMP) and AMP for Endpoints. As more and more of our portfolio looks to integrate with Customer's enterprise infrastructure, good software skills around APIs and knowledge of any scripting or programming languages such as Python would be a plus.

Candidates should have knowledge of Cloud infrastructure, Private, Public and Hybrid including the relevant security solutions to support a growing Cloud first approach from our Customers and Partners. As always a solid background in the security domain generally is key.

Candidates should be able to explain how technical solutions can be applied to solve business problems, and should be able to speak the languages of business and technical decision makers alike.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Support the activities of the GSSO and general Sales team through direct support of identified customer opportunities, Partner identification and development.
  • Promote the technical value and benefits of Cisco Security solutions.
  • Encourage partners to use Cisco technology.
  • Build trusted technical advisor relationships with Customers and leaders of various partner groups, linking the Cisco vision to relevant business strategies. Present and demonstrate technical solutions in a business relevant way to all levels of the customer and Partner organization.
  • Use Cisco defined processes and tools such as SFDC to navigate through the sales cycle, implementing relevant Cisco enablement programs and tools to drive Security sales opportunities

Solution and Architectural Selling

  • Explain the elements of the Cisco Security solutions and architecture and how they're interconnected with all elements of the Cisco portfolio, ensuring that the features and benefits of Cisco technology are understood and valued by Customers.
  • Help partner technical sales teams design innovative architectural solutions that drive strategic objectives and help differentiate partner offerings
  • Ensure the detailed features, functionality and architectural impact of Cisco technology in your designs and proposals are understood, valued and communicated
  • Build a solid understanding of technology shifts that impact security and other architectures. For example the role of Software Defined Networking and Data Centre Architectures.

Who you are

  • University degree in a technical subject area or equivalent
  • 7-10 years of experience in the security field.
  • At least 4 years of pre-sales SE experience
  • Some form of in depth experience such as enterprise architecture, security operations or compliance auditing
  • Cisco CCIE very highly regarded

What You’ll Do

As a Systems Engineer you will orchestrate involvement of all technical activities and resources, holding accountability for all opportunities within assigned account(s) and territory in the service Provider segment, provide architectural perspective across the Cisco product portfolio, including software and services.

  • Technical sales professional serving as a Technology/Product/Solution consultant.
  • Technical orchestrator for an array of Cisco resources, primary responsibility for ensuring successful completion of each pit stop from a technical perspective in the lifecycle selling motion.
  • Provides technical information and design/implementation mentorship in concert with Cisco Architecture Seller team(s).
  • Collaborates with the Service provider Sellers on the customer account plan(s), jointly helping customers meet their business and technical
  • Educate customer on Cisco differentiation. Set brand preference to Cisco.
  • A role that serves as a Technology expert across solutions within a multi-domain architecture approach.
  • Engage with customer roles from engineers to C-Suite, aligning technology to business drivers.
  • Build relationship with Architecture team, Business Units(BUs) and Partners

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B-Tech, BE, or equivalent.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, listening, and presentation skills.
  • Min 7-10 years of presales experience in technical position
  • Detailed Cisco products and technologies knowledge
  • Deep technical knowledge of Service Provider Routing and Data Centre Networking technologies
  • Knowledge of technology architectures in adjacent and associated technologies that can support the customer business needs. (E.g. along with knowledge in security should have an awareness of how security should be applied across Network, DC, Cloud etc.).
  • Knowledge on how to handle RFP specifications.
  • Strong understanding of service provider technologies including but not limited to IP/MPLS, OSPF, BGP, L3VPN, various L2VPN variants, Segment Routing & EVPN
  • Exposure to automation technologies and networking programming skills such as Netconf/Yang, Ansible, Python and Scripting
  • Ability to drive CxO-level discussions and drive Cisco’s value and differentiators.
  • Advanced Whiteboarding and Presentation skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working with the large Manufacturing/ITES/BFSI customers.
  • CCNP/ CCIE and any other industry recognised certification
  • Formulate and communicate a solution / vision.
  • Ecosystem platform skills and certification (Cloud, Security)
  • Working towards any industry led certification.
  • Knowledge of programmability (python, REST API, Netconf Yang, Ansible).
  • Knowledge of Software lifecycle selling.
  • Social Media savvy.
