As the leader in cloud-managed IT, Cisco Meraki connects passionate people to their mission by simplifying the digital workplace. Our impact is driven by the innovative, purposeful, and vibrant people who make up our inclusive community. When technology is intuitive, our customers can focus on what matters.
Our employees fuel the magic of the Meraki community. They have fostered an environment that empowers Merakians to challenge limits, embrace risks, and assist our customers in pursuing their missions.
Our guiding principles are rooted in our four core values: 'care deeply,' 'everybody in,' 'simplify everything,' and 'be brave.' These pillars have propelled us to the forefront of cloud-managed IT leadership and have played a pivotal role in shaping a more inclusive future for all.
The modern world runs on the Internet, and the Internet cannot exist without its underlying infrastructure. Cisco Meraki makes setting up, managing, and maintaining that infrastructure easier than it has ever been before. Meraki enables connectivity everywhere from neighborhood cafes to world-class universities to global hospitality groups operating thousands of sites. And Meraki's hardware organization is responsible for building the physical devices that get people online.
Cisco Meraki is looking for a Technical Program Manager to join Cisco Wireless & Meraki Hardware’s JDM (Joint Development Manufacturing) Data Science Team. As a Technical Program Manager you will be a key partner in Meraki’s analytics ecosystem, responsible for managing important datasets that drive key decisions. You will work on high impact initiatives using key data sets which are critical for many internal teams’ regular decision making.
As part of this role, you will develop relationships across teams including hardware development, quality, manufacturing, supply chain and our manufacturing partners. Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, an analytical mindset, excellent organizational skills, and a bias to action. You don't wait for change - you embody the change you want to see in the world!
Meraki believes that the quality of our product is dependent on the quality of our employees. We place a high value on nurturing the growth and development of everyone on our team. We foster an open and supportive workplace where everybody is given the opportunity to succeed.
Example projects of a technical program manager:
- When we have a new NPI, ensure that the data is accurately being recorded in our systems.
- Identify the root cause and fix a data bug that is causing erroneous values in an important report that rolls up to executives.
- A Data Scientist on your team comes to you with a new column for an existing data source that will provide valuable new data. Take point in bringing that new piece of information into the team's core data tables: understand how the new data relates and connects to the existing data, work with our manufacturing partners to bring this data onboard and build relevant tests to check the integrity of the data on an ongoing basis.
- System upgrades and manufacturing changes are common at our manufacturing partners who are the source for our data systems. Work with them to manage new changes and ensure minimal disruptions to the data pipelines and data quality.
Minimum qualifications:
- 2+ years experience with SQL
- 3+ years of project management experience
- Strong organizational skills
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills. Able to communicate sophisticated concepts to a variety of audiences
- Consistent track record of successfully delivering sophisticated technical projects
- Ability to take initiative and work autonomously
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Proficiency in English and Mandarin for communicating with external partners
Bonus points for:
- Experience in the hardware development industry or working with JDM/CM partners
- 1+ years experience managing data tables and maintaining python scripts
- Experience with Git or equivalent code management/review systems

Exempt new hires participate in Cisco’s flexible Vacation Time Off policy, which does not place a defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use, but is subject to availability and some business limitations. All new hires are eligible for Sick Time Off subject to Cisco’s Sick Time Off Policy and will have eighty (80) hours of sick time off provided on their hire date and on January 1st of each year thereafter. Up to 80 hours of unused sick time will be carried forward from one calendar year to the next such that the maximum number of sick time hours an employee may have available is 160 hours. Employees in Illinois have a unique time off program designed specifically with local requirements in mind. All employees also have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community.
Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:
.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;
1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;
1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
