What You'll Do
The Data Center Business Unit is looking for an experienced, high-energy Technical Marketing Engineer (TME) to drive our strategy and customer engagement around SDN, automation, Open NXOS, Nexus 9000, Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI), systems that integrate including hypervisors from VMware, Microsoft, KVM, and Xen, as well as integrating with OpenStack and Linux containers. The right candidate will have an opportunity to set internal product direction as well as work closely with critical customers and partners as they design next generation cloud architecture.
Who You'll Work With
Our team is responsible for driving integration of the Nexus 9000 and ACI with open source software, including OpenStack, Docker, and Open vSwitch, to help our customers build multitenant clouds. The TME will be opportunity to drive field and customer engagement, be involved in the upstream open source community, and influence overall product strategy based on customer feedback. While routing, switching feature set product management will be the primary area of focus, there will be opportunity to help develop solutions around emerging architectures, technologies within the data center space, in fact it will be encouraged to look for new ways and solutions to respond and address our customer needs in a creative way.
Who You Are
A Technical Marketing Engineer is focused on driving solutions and business requirements with customers, the field, and business unit resources supporting the Nexus 3000, Nexus 9000, ACI, Nexus Data Broker, and supporting management and analytics platforms. This role will interface with our largest and most influential customers requiring a strong technical background in data center including networking, REST API's, programmability including python scripting, SDN, OpenStack, NFV, virtualization, DevOps tools such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, and others. This role is highly dynamic and fast moving where the interlock between the customer, the field, and the business unit are critical as we align our features, timelines, and scale based on the customer business requirements helping us to drive our development and roadmap. A critical element to this role is the ability to run PoC testing, working with engineering and solutions requiring in-depth technical knowledge including hands-on work with customers, solutions validation services, advanced services, and the field.
The TME is responsible for producing collateral regarding positioning, technical architecture, competitive positioning, use case, validated designs, and best practices. This includes presenting this material to various audiences and conferences.
