Meet The Team:
The Cisco AI Software & Platform Group incubates and delivers Generative AI based solutions to reinvent Cisco's existing Products and how customers interact with them. Our Group is also introducing new offerings that help customers roll out Generative AI at scale while doing so responsibly. Ultimately, we are doing so through internal platforms that unlock the benefits of this technology for Cisco teams and partners across our Security, Enterprise Networking, Collaboration and Splunk portfolios.

Your Impact:
  • Has end-to-end technical ownership for multiple products and solutions, with a primary focus on AI Defense
  • Supplies technical strategy development for our product portfolio
  • Leverages deep customer and market knowledge to improve and innovate on existing products or solutions
  • Develops AI Defense driven materials for internal product management and sales
  • Participates in the definition of current and next generation development for AI Defense, considering a wider scope of functionalities and latest trends
  • Collaborates with key partners to review complex product architectural documentation and defines new product features and customer requirements
  • Leads technical discussions during sales and business development efforts in order to educate customers/partners on technology and solution capabilities
  • Educates and influences the design of customer networks and their deployment
  • Regularly engages with customers/partners and other collaborators (e.g., Advisory Boards) to share key product information on industry-wide platforms (e.g., events, conferences, blackbelt academy)
  • Employs insights from competitive research and analysis to recommend corrective action (typically solution wide); socializes with broader multi-functional teams
  • Develops sophisticated field/customer-facing collateral (e.g., technical white papers, deployment guides, methodology documents)
  • Leads engagement with customers, partners, and sales team to ensure they are educated on new products and technology releases

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience in Product Development and execution in a technical domain
  • Expertise in debugging AI models and systems, preferably in computer vision and machine learning applications.
  • Proficient in cloud technologies and AI models and frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch.
  • Strong skills in Linux systems, programming languages (Python, Ruby, JavaScript), and automating debugging tasks.
  • Experienced with different types of LLMs, including open-source models like BERT and GPT models
  • Ability to easily communicate complicated concepts to non-technical folks
  • An ambitious, can-do demeanor with a strong sense of product quality
  • Loves solving technical problems in creative ways
  • Bachelors + 8 years of related experience, or Masters + 6 years of related experience, or PhD + 3 years of related experience

Preferred Qualification:
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • Hands-on familiarity with AI/ML models, computer vision, or camera and image sensor technologies.
  • Expertise in application engineering, QA, or technical support.
  • Experienced with technical writing and querying data using tools such as Salesforce/SQL.
  • Experience in supporting and selling machine learning technologies.
  • Experience in embedded or application engineering, technical support, product testing, or QA.

For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings.

Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday (for non-exempt employees), plus a day off for their birthday. Non-Exempt new hires accrue up to 16 days of vacation time off each year, at a rate of 4.92 hours per pay period. Exempt new hires participate in Cisco’s flexible Vacation Time Off policy, which does not place a defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use, but is subject to availability and some business limitations. All new hires are eligible for Sick Time Off subject to Cisco’s Sick Time Off Policy and will have eighty (80) hours of sick time off provided on their hire date and on January 1st of each year thereafter.  Up to 80 hours of unused sick time will be carried forward from one calendar year to the next such that the maximum number of sick time hours an employee may have available is 160 hours. Employees in Illinois have a unique time off program designed specifically with local requirements in mind. All employees also have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community.

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
