What You'll Do



You'll be a key player in leading our engineering efforts and helping to design, develop and build products that drive our vision and strategy. You will make technology choices and put them into practice. You will collaborate and work directly with your team members to build and deliver products. The Secure Network Analytics (SNA) Engineering team is looking for a strong, collaborative Senior Engineering Technical Leader with energy and enthusiasm for technology and security. This Senior Engineering Technical Leader will be an integral part of our solution delivery team providing:


Technical leadership in product delivery

Hands-on experience in software design and development

Shared planning across all SNA products and components

You will look to apply lean startup principles to validate the growth and value potential in all that we do.

Secure Network Analytics is the industry leading NDR (Network Detection and Response) solution that provides network visibility and security intelligence to protect enterprises against today’s top Security threats. The SNA team utilizes cutting-edge technologies in an Agile environment to deliver innovative security products. Part of the Storage team in SNA, you will lead & collaborate hands-on with engineering teams and technical leaders to define, design and deliver big data storage and analytics solutions. You will also be helping coordinate product strategy, align technology to our strategy, release timelines, and product quality. You will follow our solutions to our customers and will work with the people and departments on the way to ensure success.

You have demonstrated experience in designing technical solutions and moving them to production faster and safe. You are passionate about technology, know how to successfully align it with strategy . You have or are currently implementing solutions and leveraging that real world experience to drive tradeoffs. You have a good awareness of the balance between experiments, designs, and working code to be a multiplier for the rest of the organization. You foster a collaborative environment that promotes open discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution. You communicate a technology roadmap that supports our mission. You understand technology trends and can promote introduction of new technologies that support the strategy. You collaborate with other technical leaders, technologists and engineers to design and build the best solutions and seek the best outcomes.


You


Have at least 12 years of overall experience in enterprise solution design, development and delivery experience

Have 5+ years of experience in designing and delivering highly distributed enterprise products (On-prem/SaaS)

5+ years of experience working in Agile/Scrum environment and standard methodologies like TDD, Code Reviews and ownership of Automated tests to ensure quality.

Understand how complex system solutions are delivered, nurtured and operated for scale

Have experience in automated deployment pipelines and DevOps best practices.

Have strong fundamentals of data structures, algorithms, design patterns and async programming.

Are a pragmatic programmer and problem solver

Possess knowledge in designing, administrating and operating (install, upgrade, schema, migration, performance tuning, SQL queries) large Columnar DB systems (Vertica or similar ones) for performance and scale

Are a great team player, you lead by example and also put your socio-technical skills to good use in enabling your team to deliver product with great speed and quality

Understand that success is measured by customer success

Are an active learner who believe in experimentation to drive the most successful outcomes

Are hands-on with a variety of software platforms and technologies (Java, Python, Scripting, APIs)

Understand Big Data storage systems and analytics

Understand IP Networking Data very well

U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
