Technical Consulting Engineer – SP SSPT NSO / Automation

Who You Will Work With?

This team primarily provides technical leadership to SSPT NSO/Automation delivery teams in the region, which includes incubation of new products and services.  You will be collaborating with TAC delivery teams, product BUs, Professional Services, Theater Delivery Teams, TS Product Management, Acquisition Integration, Sales and Service Readiness teams to drive scalability of new products and solutions.  Work with Global Technical Leader team and GTAC Technology Office to drive grass roots innovation.

We work closely with Cisco Engineering team & CX Leadership to identify and execute actions required to accelerate success of Support Services Organization. Serve as a cross-functional technical advisor by utilizing depth and breadth of knowledge to drive customer success.

Preferred Minimum Qualifications:

BE or BS in Computer Science or related technical fields or equivalent experience

9+ years of Experience in writing source code using JAVA and/or Python, REST API’s, Cisco’s NSO and Crossworks Automation Stack

Desired Skills:

  • Excellent software debugging skills, with good aptitude.
  • Excellent working knowledge on JAVA, OOPS, PYTHON, REST API’s
  • Experience in NETCONF and YANG data modelling
  • Hands on experience in resolving complex to highly complex network solution support SW issues.
  • Working knowledge on handling and resolving Enterprise SW Applications, Solution Orchestration and Automation
  • Support experience in a high-tech environment providing remote B2B 24x7 mission critical support for Enterprise Customers
  • Exposure and working experience on Cisco’s NSO and Crossworks Automation Stack will be added advantage.
  • Good understanding of cutting-edge technologies like, Orchestration, SDN, Virtualization, Openstack etc.
  • Good understanding of Networking (TCP/IP, OSI Reference Model)
  • Hands on Experience in Linux platform, scripting and administration.
  • Previous experience in testing/Lab recreates. Ability to identify requirement to recreate customer problem to isolate and resolve the customer issue.
  • Previous experience in writing technical documents, knowledge management and technical training.
  • Team player. Ability to work in collaborative way to achieve end results
  • Fluent English speaking/written skills required
  • Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Independently solves problems in broad, complex, and unique SW solutions deployed in mixed network environments. Supports engineers from multiple teams as well as the field and aids them in problem resolution.
  • Acts as a focal point for large account Solution Support and problem resolution and provides technical leadership for Critical Accounts where Cisco is at risk.
  • Effectively inducts new SW Solutions and Automation Stack, manage the current and future requirement for Cisco SSPT TAC lab to debug broad and complex problems
  • Content Development: Write Techzone, CCO (White Papers), contribute to Cisco engineering community to simplify the support experience for customers.
  • Engineering Partnership: Drive improvement in product Serviceability, New Product/Feature Incubation, Field Quality/Top Issues etc.
  • Talent Development: Conduct training Programs/Mentoring for Technical Consulting Engineers.
  • Innovation: Come up with ideas and recommendation to simplify troubleshooting, expedite resolution and elevate customer experience.
  • Provides systems/product training both internally and externally. Develops intellectual property and innovates within the strategy to create new service capabilities.
