This Technical Consulting Engineer position offers hybrid working but you must be based in Poland. No travel is required but it is preferable for the Krakow office to be in reach, but not essential.

You will work with other team members in Cisco - your fellow consulting engineers, technical leaders, business units, high touch operations managers, field escalation managers.

What You’ll Do

Actively assists other Technical Consulting Engineers and Global Delivery Partners in problem resolution. Interacts effectively with Engineering to solve complex problems. You will view customer concerns and guide them in successful interactions with the Engineering teams.

Recognize and submit software defects with required related information. Act on pervasive bugs and issues within technology domain. Provide critical issue, and lab setup support and expertise. Build shared and reusable lab setups.

Produce and share intellectual capital (documentation and training) for internal audiences, Partners and customers for global use.

Actively mentor and develop others - new joiners, global delivery partners.

Leverages software skills and tools to configure, deploy and/or troubleshoot Cisco products and solutions. Contribute to the development of digital intellectual capital (e.g. scripts, digital signatures).


Who You Are

You are an accomplished engineer with extensive experience of problem resolution who enjoys a fast paced environment at the forefront of technology.


Our Minimum Qualifications

As a Technical Support Engineer, you have:

  • Solid understanding of modern Enterprise networks typically 5-8 years related experience.
  • Ability to isolate the issue to specific network/software component and come up with feasible workaround / fix.
  • Experience with routing protocols (OSPF, ISIS, BGP).
  • Basic experience of Linux operating system.


Our Preferred Qualifications

We would be very impressed if you could also demonstrate knowledge in one of the following areas:

  • Knowledge and experience with modern switching products (Catalyst 9000 series).
  • Knowledge of modern network constructs (VXLAN) and protocols (MP-BGP, LISP).
  • Hold a current valid industry recognizable accreditation (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE) desired.
  • Basic knowledge of any programming language (preferably Python) and Rest APIs.
  • Understanding of Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of enterprise-class wireless solutions (WLC/AP).
  • Understanding of identity-based managed systems and protocols - dot1q/aaa/radius.
  • Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internal resources and apply that knowledge in real world situations.
  • Skills to work independently as well as in diverse teams.

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
