At Cisco, the position of Technical Instructor leads training events for a wide array of customers including Fortune 500 companies in many industries including Internet Service Providers, Cellular Network Providers, Technology, Healthcare, Banking, Finance, and many others. The ideal candidate must accept a lifestyle of continuing education in order to maintain meaningful technical breadth and to constantly be ready to deliver training for the next generation of Cisco products and technology.

What You'll Do

In addition to leading training events at Cisco locations around the world or at customer facilities, the Technical Instructor will work with a team of learning professionals to design, develop, and edit training products for customers. These include Student Guides, Lab Manuals, instructor presentations and also asynchronous products including video-based training, product simulations, and e-learning projects. The Technical instructor will also assist in the design and implementation of student lab environments that provide students with a rich hands-on experience.

Required Skills

You have 3+ years of industry analyst relations background with confirmed analytical skills, as well as experience that demonstrates sound judgment, good instincts, and excellent time management skills. You have experience in the technology industry and be comfortable engaging in content-rich discussions about technology and business. You will lead multiple long-term and short-term initiatives simultaneously and must possess outstanding interpersonal, follow up, prioritization, communications and leadership skills. You possess excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate across and within organizations.

5+ years of experience in in prospecting, replacing an incumbent, and protecting the Cisco installed base. Proven track record of success managing a large territory, demand generation, partner development, strategic account planning, forecasting, quota attainment, communicating business transformational solutions via sales presentations, short-term, mid-term, and long-term opportunity management. You have the ability to deliver business value to both End Users and Partners. Strong technical and business knowledge with complimentary skills to understand the customers’ business drivers and align to Cisco solution. Demonstrate the necessary skills to negotiate issues with peers, partners and customers using a Win/Win philosophy. Must be a bold self-starter with ability articulate Cisco product and business strategies, and create the demand to close deals. Experience selling Unified Communications and/or Data Center/Virtualization/Servers Solutions and/or knowledge of the business partner community/customer base preferred.
