What You'll Do

Cisco's rapidly growing Web team is looking for a Systems Engineer to cover Web accounts in the Bay Area. You will work within a dynamic and fast-moving sales team focused around selling all of Cisco’s technical solutions and will lead all pre-sales engagements, technical solutions, and make sure our customers have a quality experience with our products and services. 

Some key areas of focus will be:

Developing the Pipeline - Applying knowledge of sales trends, market drivers, and key customer issues and opportunities to do strategic account planning; establishing, prioritizing, executing, and monitoring a course of action to accomplish broad territory objectives and sales strategies; using knowledge to identify and cultivate future sales opportunities to build a strong pipeline.

Build Influential Relationships - Working collaboratively with customers, channel partners, and account team members to meet business goals and objectives; using appropriate communication methods to influence others and establish relationships.

Customer Obsessed - Supporting customers during the sales process; seeking and taking appropriate actions on customer requirements while balancing business needs; resolving difficult issues in a timely and professional manner; taking responsibility for customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Think Critically - Identifying and understanding issues, problems, and opportunities; comparing data from different sources to address sales challenges and new opportunities; taking courses of action based on sound analysis and judgment that appropriately consider customer and partner business capabilities and issues, available facts, constraints, competitive circumstances and probable consequences.

Who You Are?

  • ·       Passionate about the customer experience and excited about new technology. You are a true teammate and love to learn. 
  • ·       Knowledge of baseline SE skills and in-depth knowledge in at least one specialization in either Data Center, Collaboration, Security or Route/Switch/Wireless.
  • ·       Knowledge of relevant solutions sets, product line specifications, performance criteria and applications.
  • ·       Understanding and conversant about company, competitors, technologies, solutions, product strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
  • ·       Technical knowledge and consultative skills and ability to work effectively and contribute to the extended team.
  • ·       You are at the intersection of a sales engineer, innovator, engineering account manager, and project manager all in one! In short, you are awesome and looking to be challenged and have a technical background. 

The Systems Engineer must be experienced in, and demonstrate the following:

    •                   Network Automation & Orchestration skills
    •                   Networking hardware and software experience
    •                   Practical knowledge of network architectures
    •                   CCIE or equivalent experience preferred
    •                   The ability to build relevant customer relationships 
    •                   Strong interpersonal, presentation and troubleshooting skills

Experienced with Cisco’s product portfolio and the technology behind it all. Passion for learning and focus at least one of our major architectures. Going deep into the technology will give you a leading edge and make you more relevant to our customers.

  • Our minimum requirements for this role:
    5+ years of related experience.
  • Cisco product experience or relevant experience in key competitor offerings in technology area of emphasis.
  • Pre-Sales experience
    BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent
