Cisco seeks an experienced, knowledgeable Systems Architect to help drive sales opportunity at a Sky to help them in transforming their current network architectures by applying Cisco's world class products, technologies, and solutions.
In this dynamic, customer focused role, you will partner directly with one or more account managers and leverage an extended team to position sophisticated software and hardware solutions, passionate about solving the business and technical problems of our customer. In that capacity, you will rely on an extended network of Cisco services professionals and business unit domain experts, with close support of your sales leadership/executives.
As a Cisco Service Provider Systems Architect, you will provide technical leadership of the sales engagement. You will establish positive relationships within the customer organization and work to become the trusted advisor to those who influence technology and vendor/partner selection. You will also understand the business drivers behind the technology decisions and be skilled at connecting your messaging to the desired business outcomes of your customer.
We are seeking the "Systems Engineer of Tomorrow”, with a strong foundation in traditional networking technology combined with Service Provider background. The ideal candidate will be comfortable being immersed in agile process demonstrated within a Dev-Ops model to help our customers achieve the value of Cisco's software and solutions more quickly and simply. This role requires operating across a broad spectrum of skills; from distilling sophisticated technical information when messaging to a VP and Director-level audience, to installing and configuring software and hardware for demonstration in proof-of-concept lab environments in partnership with customers’ Senior Architects and Engineers.
You should excel communicating technical architectures, solutions, and products to key customer decision-makers, including Director level and above. You should be comfortable presenting to both small and large audiences. This individual must possess relevant technical background and specific, technical skills applicable design and implementation of sophisticated network architectures.
- Understand the competitive product and solution landscape
- Advanced knowledge in Routing & Switching Expertise working with a majority of the following Cisco product families is required: IOS-XR based Cisco routing platforms (i.e. ASR9K), Cloud Native BNG
- Service Provider core and edge functional protocols: SR/MPLS, BGP, IS-IS, and related functionality
- Understand networking industry trends, including new products and solutions
- Network management and Automation
The ideal candidate will have an advanced level Cisco certification (such as CCNA, CCIE, DEVNET), and should have experience in software and hardware sales.
Working knowledge of:
IP Routing protocols, Network Automation, Optical Transport, Optics, Linux/Unix, virtualization, and containerization technology.
Practical experience in Service Provider network design is highly desired, scripting and API integration is ideal, and software programming skills are a definite plus.
This role requires someone who is highly collaborative and who excels when working in a virtual team environment. The candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills and experience working across geographic and organizational boundaries.
