The Team

Roles and Responsibilities

As part of Cisco’s Engineering team, you be responsible to manage a team to accomplish the following:

  • Responsible for unit and system level test plan & procedure (what to test and how to test to exercise all the components on a board). Write complete unit and system level test plans for an entire product family (Switches, Router, Radios [RF, Cellular, and Bluetooth], Cameras, and IOT devices)
  • Working with Cisco-Meraki’s cloud network software to understand the operation of the our environment and help the JDM partners set test to exercise the hardware.
  • Review engineering specs, IEEE Standards, & devise overall test strategy for new products.
  • Work with JDM partners to understand their equipment, test systems and environments.
  • Review hardware schematics and hardware component specifications.  Use that to determine test effectiveness and to determine root cause of hardware failures.
  • Provide detailed issue mitigation & drive issues to closure with the support of hardware engineering.
  • Document test plans, procedures, & test reports
  • Communicate cross-functionally assure timely test completion: Systems Design Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, etc.
  • Support automation to implement test strategy & improve productivity.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s in electrical engineering or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience doing product testing in development or in manufacturing.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work toward long-term goals.
  • Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and technical problem-solving skills
  • Experience in establishing and sustaining positive relationships with the extended team.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Bonus
  • Language proficiency in Mandarin
  • Experience with hardware driver development.

For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
