What You'll Do

The Cisco Supply Chain Operations organization is responsible for supporting the realisation of creative and sophisticated engineering innovations from the drawing board all the way through to general availability.

The Electrical Product Engineer provides the technical expertise to guide a design from initial concept to mass production. As part of the cross-functional team, the EPE’s primary role is to work alongside the design team to ensure the product to be launched is resilient by design and capable of consistently achieving a high standard of manufacturing and field quality when in mass production.

In the role of EPE, you will:

  • Drive design for manufacturability (DFM) activities. Incorporating DFQ (quality), DFR (reliability), DFSC (supply chain), DFS (service)
  • Evaluate the design realization of Electronic Circuits to ensure Products are both Cost optimal and launched with the best possible material Resiliency (BOM Risk).
  • Drive cost avoidance and/or improvements in New Product Introduction (NPI) and Sustaining.
  • Build-out and thereafter maintain a products BOM.

Who You’ll Work With

The EPE partners with the Collaboration BU Engineering teams and Operations functions. You will work with a cross functional team in Product Operations and across Supply Chain Operations functions including Technology & Quality, Global Manufacturing & Logistics, Global Supplier Management and Component Engineering.

  • Proven abilities in the design and/or layout of Elecrtonic Circuits
  • Experience working with PCBA manufacturing
  • Excellent organization and time management skill
  • Ability to influence decisions based on solid reasoning
  • Strong written, verbal and formal presentation skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with a passion for solving problems
  • Abilities in data analytics
  • Some experience or a strong appreciation for Software development
  • Flexible and able to adapt in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Think, understand and act holistically (outside the box)

Our Qualifications for This Role

  • Typically educated in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or similar technical subject (Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent)
  • Several years’ experience in a similar Supply Chain role, manufacturing, or product development
  • Experience working on new circuit designs encompassing electronic components.
