What You'll Do

The Internet-of-Things (IoT) is now in its hyper-growth phase and Cisco, the pioneer and leader in IoT Connectivity Management Platforms, is seeking a Sr. Product Manager to join our team.

Cisco has designed its industry-leading software-as-a-service (SaaS) IoT platform to enable companies of all sizes to rapidly and cost-effectively launch, manage and monetize IoT services on a global scale. With this role, you will be spearheading one of our key initiatives with the potential to unlock significant SaaS revenues over the coming years as well the potential to unlock broader opportunities with our IoT portfolio and further strengthen our position in the overall IoT value chain.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Own and drive a key strategic initiative for our SaaS IoT platform, with a strong business focus driving near term P&L goals as well as strategic positioning of our portfolio longer term.
  • Define the vision, strategy and feature roadmap for your product area by working with cross-functional teams and by assessing market trends, competitive positioning as well as partnership opportunities and make business decisions in order to maximize our chances of success while entering new markets and launching new offerings.
  • Drive product development & backlog as well as build detailed technical product requirements, scope, release and measure features to ensure the customer and business goals are met.
  • Work with customers and partners to understand business needs, enterprise pain points, define business requirements, own prioritization, and drive decisions around product features, functionality, architecture and design.
  • Build trust and effective relationships with peers/cross-functional teams to build consensus on product decisions and influence senior leaders to communicate SaaS IoT features vision, strategy, goals, status and customer impact.
  • Measure the success of our undertakings by identifying and tracking key metrics.

Who You’ll Work With

You will interface closely with Enterprises, Service Providers, external Cisco partners as well as partner Cisco BU’s to create differentiated Cisco offerings, driving our near and long term strategy as well revenue goals.

You will also work closely with Software Engineering, Operations, Sales, Marketing and Finance teams to take products from ideas all the way to rapid commercial launch in a dynamic and iterative SaaS model.

  • Have a strong background in SaaS application development, SaaS offer monetization and go-to-market models.
  • Have technical expertise with SaaS delivery models, with an understanding of cloud service performance and health metrics.
  • Understand the operational aspects of delivering SaaS products.
  • Data driven and analytics-based focus.
  • Have a hands-on nature with a strong interest in technology products.
  • Take strong initiative with ability to work independently with limited direction.
  • Confidently present in front of audiences of all sizes.
  • Be a great written and verbal communicator.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 years of relevant Product Management experience in a Software business, preferably SaaS.
  • An undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field, preferably with an MBA
  • Track record of having led complex initiatives from inception all the way to launch, .
  • Strong leadership and soft skills in combination with technical savvy.
  • Prior Product Management experience in the IoT space or a SaaS offer monetization is a strong plus.
