Meet the Team


We are seeking an outstanding professional to join the Corporate Planning team within the Cisco Office of the CEO. This high-visibility team works directly with the ELT (Executive Leadership Team / C-level officers) and dozens of other senior executives to implement Cisco’s planning processes and to manage strategic programs that support the top company priorities. This team shapes strategy, drives impact, aligns collaborators, manages change, leads problem-solving, and delivers high-quality output. The Office of the CEO is one of the most visible teams at Cisco; you will have the opportunity to work with senior leaders (VP/SVP) across the business.


Your Impact


Help implement Cisco’s planning processes by aligning with leaders on critical company priorities; help define goals, measurement, and accountability processes. Work with teams to identify, accelerate, and report on actions to deliver priorities. Drive cross-company execution programs as needed:


  • Help prepare our Annual Plan and other ELT / Board of Directors deliverables
  • Mentor / influence planning leaders across the company
  • Manage critical cross-company programs that have ELT visibility
  • Build/align project charters (e.g., scope) and business cases (e.g., financial assessments)
  • Develop program roadmaps and governance models
  • Identify and make recommendations on tradeoffs and business impacts
  • Build and deliver executive presentations to support critical decisions
  • Syndicate and acquire agreement / alignment across multiple organizations
  • Track action statuses and measure impact
  • Advance issues; recommend remediation as needed
  • Take on other strategy and/or program management work as needed. This is a fast-paced team with evolving priorities; flexibility to take on new challenges is a must
  • Drive cross-organizational teamwork, alignment, and consensus; forge positive relationships; lead a matrixed team to win together
  • Role will report to the Sr. Director of Strategy & Planning who leads our Corporate Planning team for the Office of the CEO. You'll work closely with the Product/Sales/Function strategy & planning teams several other leaders
  • This role is an individual contributor but indirect leadership / influencing of large cross-functional teams will be critical

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in Strategy, Planning, Business Operations at a large technology company; OR 2 - 4 years of Consulting Firm Management experience is required for consideration
  • Demonstrated history working directly with senior executive corporate leadership
  • Able to support West Coast working hours

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Masters/MBA or equivalent additional experience is a plus
  • Outstanding communication skills and executive presence, including demonstrated ability to produce executive-level written content and lead meetings with senior partners independently
  • Strong in framing & structuring business problems, recommending tradeoffs, and communicating the business impact of choices; able to drive and communicate the results of complex quantitative and qualitative analyses
  • Excellent project and/or program management skills, including the ability to navigate a complex matrixed organization with multiple collaborators

For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings.

Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday (for non-exempt employees), plus a day off for their birthday. Non-Exempt new hires accrue up to 16 days of vacation time off each year, at a rate of 4.92 hours per pay period. Exempt new hires participate in Cisco’s flexible Vacation Time Off policy, which does not place a defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use, but is subject to availability and some business limitations. All new hires are eligible for Sick Time Off subject to Cisco’s Sick Time Off Policy and will have eighty (80) hours of sick time off provided on their hire date and on January 1st of each year thereafter.  Up to 80 hours of unused sick time will be carried forward from one calendar year to the next such that the maximum number of sick time hours an employee may have available is 160 hours. Employees in Illinois have a unique time off program designed specifically with local requirements in mind. All employees also have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community.

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
