This hardware organization is staffed with world class talent and is looking for Hardware Engineer with specialized knowledge on board architecture and design. SBTGBU is one of the BU inside of this org, shipping Switch/Wireless products to Medium and Small Business market.

What You’ll Do

Cisco Small Business is looking for an experienced senior level HW engineer who will provide technical requirements to HW JDM/ODMs on the Small Business Switching/Wireless products, choose the chipset solution, step into details for critical issues…etc. Inside Cisco, work with multi-disciplinary teams including product marketing, software, supply chain, customer support to deliver high quality HW on schedule.

The responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Fully responsible of HW delivery with the help from ODMs and chipset partners
  • Write HW Spec, provide HW requirements to ODM HW Partners
  • Responsible for the key chipsets and components selection
  • Debug HW issues, assist ODMs to resolve any HW technical problems in development
  • Review ODM HW deliverables including schematic/PCB layout/Test Plan/Test reports, etc.
  • Interface with cross functional teams (software, product manager, project manager, supply chain, customer support, etc) to ensure the product delivery on schedule with high quality

Who You Are

Our minimum Requirements for this Role:

  • Electrical/Computer Engineering Master’s Degree or equivalent
  • 8+ years of Switching, Wireless, or other overall system level development in the networking/computing industry
  • Excellent understanding of digital hardware design, high speed interface, timing analysis and signal integrity
  • Familiar with board design, high speed signal integrity issues, power distribution techniques and modern processors
  • Understanding PoE/PoE+/4-pair .bt PoE
  • Knowledge of basic Ethernet protocols, such as VLAN, QoS
  • Knowledge of basic WIFI technology, such as 802.11n/AC/AX
  • Familiar with of basic CPU architecture and its interfaces (MDIO, PCIe, I2C, SPI)
  • Knowledge in regulatory aspects (EMC, EMI, ESD, surge, etc)
  • Proactive and Ability to communicate clearly with team members
  • Strong Oral and Written English capability
