What You'll Do

As a Cloud + AI Infrastructure Platform SE, you will be at the forefront of Cisco’s transformation in the Cloud and AI era. This is not a traditional Systems Engineering role, it’s a strategic and technical leadership opportunity designed for someone who’s ready to shape how Cisco brings its most advanced infrastructure solutions to market. You’ll help lead the development and execution of the technical go-to-market strategy for Cisco’s Compute and Data Center Networking platforms, with a focus on enabling real-world solutions for modern workloads like AI, hybrid-cloud applications, and distributed systems.

Your job is to make innovation real. You’ll craft technical narratives, tools, reference architectures, and enablement programs that transform leading-edge technology into customer outcomes. You’ll define and deliver best-in-class content, tools, reference architectures, and demos to accelerate global field readiness. You’ll also influence product direction and platform innovation by collaborating directly with Engineering and Product Management teams to ensure our infrastructure stack is not only cutting-edge, but also relevant, validated, and ready for action in the field. If you’re passionate about bringing bold new technologies to life in a way that drives real business outcomes, this role is for you.

Who You'll Work With

You’ll be part of Cisco’s Cloud + AI Infrastructure (CAI) team, collaborating with an elite group of engineers, product leaders, and go-to-market strategists working to reinvent infrastructure for the AI era. You’ll engage daily with Cisco’s Compute and Data Center Networking product teams (UCS, Nexus, Intersight), Technical Marketing Engineers, and the Global Sales and Partner Organization (GSPO). In this global role, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor to field SEs, Account Executives, and partner engineers, empowering them with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to take Cisco’s Data Center platform story to market.

You’ll also work cross-functionally with other Cisco architecture teams (Security, Observability, CX, and more), to build cohesive, integrated solutions that deliver full-stack value to our customers. Whether you’re supporting product/solution launch readiness, leading enablement for a new capability, or aligning with a strategic partner or customer, you’ll be working with people who are just as passionate about innovation, execution, and customer impact as you are.

Who You Are

You are a technical strategist and a hands-on engineer who thrives at the intersection of infrastructure innovation and go-to-market execution. You bring deep experience in compute platforms, data center networking, virtualization, and cloud architecture, and you understand how these domains evolve to support AI/ML, high-performance computing, and cloud-native workloads. You are as comfortable in a command-line interface as you are in a strategy session with senior stakeholders.

You have a passion for enablement, storytelling, and scaling technical knowledge across large field organizations. You’re a natural collaborator who knows how to translate complex technologies into compelling business narratives, and you thrive in cross-functional environments. Above all, you believe that great engineering doesn’t stop at product launch—it accelerates when the field knows how to use, position, and win with it.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will lead the technical enablement strategy for Cisco’s Compute and Data Center Networking platforms within the CAI portfolio. You will design and deliver scalable technical content, reference architectures, workshops, battlecards, demo environments, and readiness materials that drive field and partner success. You’ll work directly with Product Management and Engineering to shape product direction, validate feature readiness, and ensure every new launch is technically sound and market-ready.

You’ll represent the Platform team at internal and external events, from field trainings and EBCs to workshops and conferences, where you’ll deliver compelling solution narratives that differentiate Cisco. You’ll also play a key role in strategic initiatives, such as platform incubation programs, early-access testing, and cross-architecture solution development. Ultimately, your work will ensure that Cisco’s Cloud + AI Infrastructure platforms are not only the most advanced in the industry, but also the most accessible, understandable, and impactful for our sellers, partners, and customers.

Minimum Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in systems engineering, technical sales, solution architecture, or technical enablement in infrastructure-related roles
  • Hands-on experience in at least two of the following: compute platforms (x86), data center networking (e.g., Cisco Nexus), virtualization (VMware, KVM), storage, cloud infrastructure, or AI/ML systems
  • Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure for modern workloads including AI/ML and cloud-native applications
  • Proven track record developing technical enablement content or tools for field, partner, or customer-facing teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to work across cross-functional teams and influence decision-makers
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Cisco infrastructure solutions such as UCS, Nexus, and Intersight
  • Familiarity with AI infrastructure technologies (GPUs, high-speed fabrics, storage pipelines, etc.)
  • Knowledge of hybrid cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containers, or modern DevOps tooling
  • Industry certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, VCP, or Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
  • Experience presenting at conferences, webinars, or executive briefings
  • Track record of thought leadership through speaking engagements, publications, or patents
  • Strong understanding of cross-architecture integration, particularly in relation to Security, Splunk, and Observability solutions
  • Experience in building and maintaining relationships with ecosystem partners (e.g., ISVs, OEMs)
