Meet the Team

Internet & Mass-Scale Infrastructure (I&MI) team, you’ll collaborate with account teams, fellow engineers, and customers to define and deliver innovative solutions that set the benchmark for Optical and IP services. You’ll act as a trusted advisor for customers and a source of thought leadership for the industry, chipping in to Cisco’s prominence in the service provider market.

Your Impact

You are a technical leader and a hands-on guide for our optical & IP solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of groundbreaking, AI-ready DCI infrastructures that enable next-generation service provider networks. You will guide RFPs, proofs of concept (PoCs), and architectural designs, ensuring alignment with customer objectives and industry trends.

You will lead multi-functional engineering efforts, delivering consultative support and expertise to customers in strategic accounts. Your influence will extend beyond individual accounts, as you work to shape Cisco’s product strategy by advocating for field and customer needs with Development teams. You will also handle customer expectations, ensuring alignment with product and solution capabilities, while continuously driving thought leadership in the broader networking and service provider industries.

Minimum Qualifications –

  • 10+ years of proven experience in Datacenter/Compute space in areas of optical and IP services.
  • Ability to define & implement solution strategy in conjunction with product, engineering and operational teams, in response to customer requirements.
  • Deep understanding of optical networking technologies along with vendors landscape,
  • Define business plans to grow market share, new franchises and build solid relationships with customers, hyperscalers and internal stakeholders
  • Experience of successfully selling across multiple technical & commercial levels

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s/master’s in engineering, Computer Science, Electronics or related field.
  • 10+ years in Pre-sales or Sales Engineering roles.
  • Thorough understanding of the optical networking space.
  • Considerable experience in addressing RFx for Optical solutions.
  • Thorough understanding of the dynamics of DCI, Metro, Core and SubSea DWDM solutions.
  • Able to stitch a end to end solution for next generation converged networks of L3 to L0.
  • Fair understanding of Layer 3 technologies and Management plane along with there latest developments (MPLS, RSVP, SR, SDN, NMS)
  • Handson optical designing experience for Layer 0 and Layer 1 DWDM networks.
  • Good competitive landscape with awareness of products and solutions of competition.
  • Ability to engage technical and commercial team with customers, and good presentation skills at CXO level and larger audiences/forums.
  • Prior experience with Global and/or middle east operators is preferred,
  • A good great teammate with Ability to engage with internal teams of Cisco as per requirement. To be able to stitch solution along with Product line, Accounts and CX
  • Self-driven with ability to work in a fast paced & dynamic environment

Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday (for non-exempt employees), plus a day off for their birthday. Non-Exempt new hires accrue up to 16 days of vacation time off each year, at a rate of 4.92 hours per pay period. Exempt new hires participate in Cisco’s flexible Vacation Time Off policy, which does not place a defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use, but is subject to availability and some business limitations. All new hires are eligible for Sick Time Off subject to Cisco’s Sick Time Off Policy and will have eighty (80) hours of sick time off provided on their hire date and on January 1st of each year thereafter.  Up to 80 hours of unused sick time will be carried forward from one calendar year to the next such that the maximum number of sick time hours an employee may have available is 160 hours. Employees in Illinois have a unique time off program designed specifically with local requirements in mind. All employees also have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community.

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
