You will participate on a project team of engineers involved in the development of software for our next gen intent based networking.
Day to day activities will involve: understanding features in a competitive product and proposing solutions that work for our platform, evolve test strategies and write test plans, validate platform, features and solutions, automate, helping review specifications and code for other software engineers in the team, and helping documentation team with the configuration aspects of your feature. Be part of bringing up next generation switching platforms using state of the art ASICs; develop features/solutions like SDA/DNAC, Cloud management and Hybrid environment that enables our customers to have unparalleled network experience. 

 

Education: Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field

 

Responsibilities:

  • Review PRD, SFS, System architecture and customer facing documentation.
  • Design test strategy and come up with use cases to perform testing in areas like platform, features, and interoperability.
  • Work with hardware, software development and marketing to understand platform/feature requirements and ensure that the delivered platform meets specifications.
  • Design and set up testbed topologies based on customer deployments.
  • Execute tests, track and log issues and drive them till resolution with verification of bug fixes
  • Participate in multi-functional and cross-BU test efforts including product, hardware, software and customer escalation/support teams.
  • Initiate and participate in interpersonal efforts to improve overall group productivity and test effectiveness. Contribute to overall test strategy development and test process definition/improvement.
  • Engagement in Early Field Trials and Customer proof of concept demos.
  • Closely work with field/customer facing teams for field issues reproduction and fixes validation. Incorporate feedback into internal test phases / build standard methodologies.

 

Required Skills:

  • Strong experience in testing Networking technologies (Layer 2/Layer 3, Ethernet, VLAN, MPLS, QoS, Multicast, Netconf, SNMP, ACL, Security protocols, Dot1x etc.)
  • Hands on experience with automation and Python/Web Based application scripting.
  • Hands-on familiarity with test instruments required. Ixia, Spirent, TREX experience is desirable
  • Work with development team to debug and reproduce software defects.
  • Document, maintain, and monitor testing progress reports and communicate status to team and management.
  • Design test beds, identify necessary equipment, build topology maps, and estimate test efforts.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in cloud and virtualization technologies such as AWS or GCP, Kubernetes, containers etc.
