The Cisco UCS VIC adapter software  team is looking for an expert software QA engineer to qualify hardware, firmware, ethernet and storage drivers with different operating systems for the UCS product family deployments in modern virtualized data centers.

What You'll Do:

Essential to the role are the capability and the will to learn, understand, qualify, automate, promote Cisco VIC based innovative networking technologies. You’re sharp with exceptional attention to detail. You drive action items to completion with accountability and you strive for operational excellence.


Role & Responsibilities:

In this highly visible role as a Software QA Engineer, you will:

  • Design, develop, and execute tests on Cisco VIC cards.
  • Developing new scripts and running the automated scripts on VIC cards in different topologies
  •  Working with different teams, debug failures, reporting issues and verifying the code after issues get fixed. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in CS/EE and 5-7 years hands-on experience in software industry
  • Design, implement and maintain a test environment including the configuration, setup of topologies, writing test plans, executing and automating the test cases, debugging, reporting issues.
  • Need hands-on experience with Windows/Linux/ESX Operating systems and virtualization environment.
  • Hands-on testing experience with FC (Fiber Channel), FCOE (Fiber Channel Over Ethernet), ethernet and storage technologies
  • Hands-on testing experience with adapter networking drivers, storage drivers and firmware testing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Script development and running scripts.
  • Configuring switches, storage arrays preferred.
  • OpenShift/CoreOS experience or knowledge preferred.
  • Friendly, passionate, independent, accountable, a strong sense of ownership, confident, communicative, and to be flexible/adaptable.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.

U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
