Job Description

At Cisco Wireless, we simplify and secure wireless enterprise connectivity across the world. We are the market leader, and we serve a diverse range of customers, inclusive of office buildings for some of the largest global companies; hospitals, universities, schools, factories, mines, hotels, retail shops, stadiums, and large public venues.

What You'll Do:

As a Software Engineer at Meraki, you will help design and build features for Meraki's Dashboard - the window to the entire Meraki experience. From the Dashboard, our customers can control their entire Meraki stack: access points, switches, firewalls, client devices, cameras, and more. Working across the stack with other developers, UX designers, and product management to build and improve the Dashboard web application.

Meraki engineers put the customer experience first, own projects from beginning to end, and are empowered to make impactful decisions. You'll be exposed to software for the most advanced technologies for wireless infrastructure devices.

As a deeply motivated and skilled software developer, who is equally comfortable building frameworks at the front-end as well as testing performance and efficiency on the backend. You are excited to power-on and bring life to the most advanced networking system in the world.

Responsibilities:

  • Create services to fetch data from millions of Meraki devices, then present that data in a user-friendly way.
  • Construct API endpoints to allow Meraki users and third-party companies to build custom tools and features
  • Build a dashboard for anomaly / outlier detection on network traffic using machine learning algorithms.
  • Build a graph for network traffic analysis using clustering and other algorithms.

Required skills:

  • 1-2 years employed experience, in addition to BS/MS qualification in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experienced in Java / Ruby frameworks and React / JavaScript.
  • Experienced in working with database modelling.
  • Front and back end (Full-Stack) development
  • Strong social and interpersonal skills, with a highly developed ability to work with customers to understand their sophisticated networking infrastructure level requirements and design solutions for them.

Bonus points:

  • Previous Dashboard building projects.
  • Experience in constructing API endpoints.
  • Being self-motivated, strong sense of ownership, teammate. You should be able to own large portions of the software from a technical perspective.

For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
