The Single Sign On (SSO) – Services team is a dynamic team that owns a core component to Cisco Security’s Identity and Access Management (IAM) solution. We are responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining Duo's Single Sign On solution to our customers. We believe that security technology is great, unless it gets in your way, and we use a combination of web development technologies to deliver an exceptional user experience that is both more secure and more efficient for our end users. We emphasize software craftsmanship and apply it to our development practices through Testing, Continuous Integration, Delivery Automation, and Mentoring. As a Software Engineer on the SSO-Services team, you will bring your problem-solving skills to our already diverse and talented group with the goal to create a seamless Sign On experience for our customers.

What you will do

In this role, you will, you will use your Python programming expertise to code, build new features, resolve bug repots, triage and resolve support escalation. You will have the opportunity to lead team projects focused on paying down tech debt and making code improvements, for example.

This position requires on call availability, usually one week per quarter, though may be more. Candidates must be willing to commit to on call requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree with 3+ years of software engineering industry experience or MS degree with 1+ years of experience
  • 2+ years of programming with Python
  • 1+ years of experience creating web services for external, enterprise customer usage
  • 1+ years of experience working on highly available distributed systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Security engineering experience
  • Experience with SAML or OIDC
  • Experience with React, Webpack, Typescript
  • Experience with cloud services such as AWS

For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
