Acacia Communications, a leader in disruptive optical and coherent technology, is looking for a Senior PIC Engineer with a track record of innovation in photonic integrated devices and related subsystems.  This person must have a deep knowledge of PICs. This includes hands on knowledge of optical waveguides, modulators, photodetectors, and knowledge of the device fabrication processes.

Key Essential Functions

• Modeling of photonic devices
• Designing and layout of complex photonic integrated circuits
• Testing of photonic devices and subsystems, and data analysis & report
• Developing and executing simulations of PICs

Other Duties

• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications, Experience, Skills, Education and Certifications

• PhD degree in engineering or physics with a minimum of 2 years of practical related experience in production environment
• Deep understanding of the physics of optics / photonics
• Hands on experience with optical and electrical characterization and data analysis
• Knowledgeable in both simulating and testing PICs in the lab
• Experience in device design and layout
• Proficient in computer programming languages such as C, MATLAB, and Python

Other Considerations/Qualifications

• Experience with PIC design
• Experience with semiconductor laser a plus
• Understanding of the fabrication process of photonic integration
