Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

What You'll Do

You, as a senior mechanical design engineer in cisco UCS product development team, will be responsible for mechanical design for blade server and rack server  products as well as different cards in server . You will be expected to:

  1. Develop mechanical enclosure solutions for server products from initial concept to production release.
  2. Design PCB outline and constraints , function modules/chassis, and hot-pluggable modules.
  3. Efficiently design sheet metal, plastics, labels, and machined parts using ProE/ Creo.
  4. Support and execute mechanical assembly , mechanical validation ,  MDVT,  mechanical manufacturing as well as issue fixing  and design optimization .

Who You'll Work With

You’ll be part of cisco UCS platform team and collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware team, SI team  , E-CAD team , manufacturing engineering team and our manufacturing partners.

Who You Are

  1. Have rich experience with designing sheet metal, , plastics, extrusion/die-casting parts, labels, gaskets.
  2. Have strong knowledge in manufacturing/part tolerances, and tolerance loop analysis.
  3. Have rich experience in co-working with function teams during PCBA development process using DXF/IDF exchange.
  4. Identify cost-effective manufacturing techniques and provide improvement recommendations.
  5. Efficient communication to transfer design info to manufacturing side and effective following-up on  production process.
  6. Proactive suggestion of thermal solution development to cool down the hot components (e.g. CPU) inside the chassis and optical transceiver.
  7. MS in EE/CS or relevant fields is expected,  have 10+ years’ work experience .
  8. Good teamwork Spirit.
  9. Excellent communication skills in both English and Mandarin.
