What You'll Do

You're a senior leader of Software Engineering teams, passionate about developing products and tools, digitizing IT infrastructure processes and automating tasks across multiple functions including Network, compute, storage, databases and other IT infrastructure platforms. You're experienced in building new software with agility and urgency in a hybrid cloud environment.

You've deep understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), DevOps, tools and software development based on microservice architecture and API development. Experience in leading software development teams with virtualization, networking systems, Databases, orchestration and systems management. Role includes responsibility for co-developing the automation strategy and plan with the subject matter experts from multiple functional IT infrastructure teams. Direct supervisor of the technical staff as well as managing a team of 20+ IT engineers/Managers. Responsible for ensuring that the vision is realized through excellence in execution.

  • Align technology to business strategy, and dedicatedly drive a technical direction throughout the organization
  • Manage multiple teams consisting of both contract and full-time employees and senior level technical individuals
  • Document and stay in sync with quality processes following a CI/CD processes.

Cisco IT cloud and Infrastructure teams are responsible for ordering, installing, configuring and operationalizing enterprise and data center networks, compute, storage, databases and other platforms. The software we are building will be used for configuring, provisioning, monitoring, securing and managing life cycle of hardware and software supporting business applications.

Who You Are

Minimum requirement to be successful in the Software Development leader role:

  • Overall experience preferred in software development field is 18+.
  • Minimum 6+ years managing and developing software for IT systems and platforms.
  • Employ data-driven, decisive Agile leadership to posture organizations for sustainable growth using existing and innovative resource planning and team management. Style encourages a team culture that empowers developers to take action, collaborate effectively, and produce outcomes.
  • Experienced leading teams employing modern software technologies including cloud technologies, react-js, angular.js, node.js, python, Java, JavaScript, git, Jenkins, golang, terraform and ansible.
  • Experience with various persistence technologies like cassandra, mongoDB, elastic search, as well as mysql is desirable.
  • Experience with vmware, openstack, openshift, AWS/GCP APIs, and opensource libraries and monitoring tools is a plus
  • Strong software delivery and execution track record, with experience around design concepts, development, integration, testing, etc
  • Ability to attract talent, inspire the organization, and develop the next generation of leaders
  • Ability to build trusting, meaningful relationships with peers, partners, partners and suppliers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical influencing, conflict management, negotiation, public presenting
  • Strong business insight and industry insight, thought leadership
  • Leadership skills to include coaching/mentoring, critical thinking, facilitation, change leadership, and team development
  • Thorough understanding of scale-out software architectures for on premises and cloud hosted environments across all layers (infrastructure, security, compliance, operations, service support, integration architecture, SP/Enterprise IT architectures, and software life cycle management)

Technical Knowledge

  • Software development and overall automation including Agile, CI/CD, DevOps, Continuous Integration, build and test automation, orchestration/fulfillment, assurance, performance.
  • Relevant experience in large-scale application architecture/design, middle ware architecture, integration architecture, application deployment methods, automation, testing, compliance, auditing
  • Experienced in architecture for highly available cloud-hosted services, including the groundbreaking elements (‘Infrastructure/Platform/Software-as-a-service'), management and automation (‘self-service, on-demand'), multi-tenancy
  • Middleware services including messaging, API management, container technologies.
  • Core infrastructure networking technologies, including network, compute, storage, physical engineering
  • B.S. and M.S. in Engineering or Computer Science
