Who You'll Work with

Cisco Compliance and xDVT team is part of the CHG and is responsible for supporting Hardware teams for development test purposes and debugs. You will be part of test team comprising HW design, RF, EMC, EDVT, MDVT & ODVT functions.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will need to perform EMC pre-compliance testing on Cisco routers with respect to various International EMC Standards independently by working with Multi-functional teams (Hardware, RF, Software, Mechanical etc.) across Cisco and also external certified EMC labs. You will be responsible for all the EMC test activity at CRDC. You will need to prepare EMC test plans, test reports for various projects.

Who You Are

  1. Have working knowledge on and well versed with these EMC Standards – CISPR 32, CISPR 35, EN 300 386 and IEC 61000-4-series of Standards, and Radio EMC standards
  2. Should be able to make setups independently as per above mentioned standards
  3. You have very deep understanding about intricate details of test setup (Distances to be maintained, cable lengths, Impedances, Coupling methods etc.)
  4. Understand, debug and root cause the problem during abnormal results seen during testing
  5. Have hands on experience in operating and using general EMC equipment (Spectrum Analyzer, EMI Receiver, Oscilloscope, ESD gun, Surge generators etc.) and also know the basics of how they operate
  6. Have experience in making EMC test plans and test reports for various requirements
  7. Have knowledge about EMC equipment Calibration procedures and parameters
  8. Have experience in interacting with various vendors for calibration and service purposes
  9. Should learn EMC debug in case of any failures seen and eventually should be able to debug independently
  10. Should be able to independently work on tasks assigned
  11. Have strong communication skills to work well with Multi-functional teams across Cisco and also various vendors during debug

Preferable skills:

  1. Have knowledge on EMC Simulation and able to perform Simulation independently. Or willing to learn Simulation and support the EMC design team in a long run
  2. Have prior experience in Radio EMC & also testing Wireless equipment in accordance to FCC & various ETSI standards
  3. Experienced troubleshooting digital and RF hardware
