What You’ll Do

  1. Hands on Security testing: Continually assess the security posture of cloud native applications and Cloud Infrastructures through manual security testing (aka internal pentesting) after Production Deployment
  2. Support Vulnerability Management and Incident Response program run by the Security Operations team to in accordance with the service level agreements set by the customers and Cisco policies
  3. Support third-party Pentest for products: Work with the product engineering to define test scope, validate test findings and engineering fixes, etc. for on-going maintenance of compliance certification
  4. Conduct Product Security Reviews: Work closely with product engineering teams to perform thorough security reviews before the release of various products and features as well as after the production deployment ensuring alignment to security standard methodologies. These security review activities include Threat Modeling, Code Reviews, Software Composition Analysis, Dynamic Application Security Testing, etc.
  5. Collaboration and Communication: Engage with various engineering teams, fostering strong communication and collaboration to drive security initiatives and improvements. Influence product and engineering team to adopt security principles in their workflows and timely remediation of reported security defects pre and post deployment
  6. Process Improvement: Lead efforts to enhance security processes, tools, and standards across the organization, promoting a culture of security awareness and standard methodologies. Optimally scale and mature the SBG product security program by collaborating with key internal partners
  7. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of security reviews, threat models, testing results, and process improvements until product end of life

Who You Are

  1. Work Experience: Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 6 years of experience in product security, with a proven track record of conducting security reviews and assessments.
  2. Solid foundation of secure Software Development: You have strong competence of secure design, development, and deployment with a variety of tools, technologies, and procedures. Need hands on experience in Threat Modeling, Code Reviews, Software Composition Analysis, Dynamic Application Security Testing, Manual Application Security Testing, etc.
  3. Foundational Skills: Knowledge of Secure Design Principles, Cryptography, Networking, Authentication and Authorization Methods, OWASP, ATT&CK
  4. Coding Skills: Experience in one or more of – Python, Java, JS, JSP
  5. Cloud Security: Experience with securing AWS-based products and infrastructures, with knowledge of cloud security standard methodologies.
  6. DevSecOps and Automation: Familiarity with integrating security practices and tools into DevOps pipelines, promoting a DevSecOps culture.
  7. Strong Communication skills: You love to communicate in a friendly, supportive manner with leaders and engineers alike, helping to not only identify security issues, but also a mentor and advocate on solutions
  8. Building Collaborative Relationships: You can proactively collaborate with internal & customer partners to find opportunities, address ambitious situations, and support customers product security needs. You can influence decision-makers and deliver solutions that work for the customer.
  9. Active Learning and Continuous Improvement: You are curious and can continuously learn about the security market landscape and the current technologies and approaches used to tackle today’s security problems. You can map emerging security technology and principles to solve business needs as applicable.

Good to Have Skills:

  1. Build Environment Security: Experience in securing build environments and ensuring secure development and deployment practices.
  2. Container Technologies: Experience with Docker, K8s, EKS or similar
  3. Security Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, OSCP, or equivalent.
  4. Artificial Intelligence: Knowledge of available AI developments and capabilities in the wild and knowledge of using them for productivity or product security

Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday (for non-exempt employees), plus a day off for their birthday. Non-Exempt new hires accrue up to 16 days of vacation time off each year, at a rate of 4.92 hours per pay period. Exempt new hires participate in Cisco’s flexible Vacation Time Off policy, which does not place a defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use, but is subject to availability and some business limitations. All new hires are eligible for Sick Time Off subject to Cisco’s Sick Time Off Policy and will have eighty (80) hours of sick time off provided on their hire date and on January 1st of each year thereafter.  Up to 80 hours of unused sick time will be carried forward from one calendar year to the next such that the maximum number of sick time hours an employee may have available is 160 hours. Employees in Illinois have a unique time off program designed specifically with local requirements in mind. All employees also have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community.

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
