The Silicon Operations team’s vision is to enable a world class Silicon Supply Chain Operations to service Silicon component needs of Cisco’s core business as well as the emerging Components business. We are an exciting team that works in a fast-paced, start-up type environment with a mission to scale Cisco's Silicon-One business. 

What You'll Do

  • prior to volume production release.
  • Analyze data and lifetime assessments by applying device parameter trends and apply acceleration models to predict reliability in the field.

·       In the pursuit of customer satisfaction, you will work with design, foundry interface, package, test, and product engineers to qualify new processes and package technologies to ensure quality of design performance to meet customer reliability requirements.

  • You are the lead quality representative on failure analysis investigations using structured problem-solving methods to engage a cross-functional team to diagnose, resolve, and prevent future problems, issuing internal and external product qualification and FA reports.

You will work with the Product Development team, Product Engineering, Customer Quality Engineering, Product Operation, Manufacturing Operation and Outsource Manufacturing partners to ensure product quality meet or exceed the target quality and reliability requirements and performance metrics that are committed to the business. You will have the ability to inspire change and improve product quality in collaboration with a diverse multi-functional team while making a difference to Silicon One's customers.

Who You Are

You are a highly organized quality professional with technical knowledge and hands on experiences in Semiconductor manufacturing. You excel at data analytics and can transform and model data with the goal of discovering useful information, suggesting conclusions, and supporting decision-making. You have good knowledge and understand how to measure and improve quality. You can apply your knowledge in quality methodologies and tools to lead individuals and teams to determine root cause of failures and ensure implementation of closed loop action. You can distill technical risk and provide an assessment and recommended path forward to maintain customer satisfaction and the quality of Silicon One products. You can also determine if appropriate screens or containment actions should be implemented based on failure mechanism and data analysis until such time that long term corrective action(s) are put in place. You can prepare technical reports and detailed failure analysis, summarize key take-aways, and communicate overall quality status with cross functional teams in an effective manner. You are experienced with change management/implementation, qualifications, and product or process transitions. You help lead the organization from a reactive to a proactive culture to meet internal and external customer requirements. You work well with functional groups at all levels to address and resolve critical product and customer issues.

Requirements

A Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university in Engineering (Electrical, or Industrial) with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience in a related industry is required. Minimum 5 years of experience in Semiconductor plus minimum 5 years of experience in quality engineering.

Required technical knowledge and skills include:

  • Knowledge in Semiconductor product design, manufacturing assembly and test process, supply chain and failure analysis.
  • Experience of FA techniques like Cross sectioning, X-ray, CSAM, TDR, FIB, SEM, and TEM is required.
  • Hands on skills in FA process and techniques, Quality tools and methodologies, and structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Knowledge of JEDEC and other industry standard IC Qualification tests
  • Understanding of networking application and testing is a plus.
  • Understanding of electronic manufacturing processes.
  • Understanding of Quality Management System and key components.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, including working knowledge and experience applying 8D Issue Resolution Process methodologies.
  • Extensive experience driving quality improvements, while engaging collaboratively with both internal key stakeholders as well as external customers and partner.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with Manufacturing Operations, Assembly Process, Test Process, and Product Engineering team to analyze yield loss and field failure, implemented and validated closed loop action to ensure its effectiveness.
  • Statistical analysis knowledge. Proficient working with large data sets, analytical tools, and capacity to present key findings. Python programming knowledge is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in all forms – written & verbal communications, ability to understand your audience and present technical content to non-technical and technical team members as well as company leadership.
  • Ability to propose innovative approaches, tackle transformation of legacy business processes, negotiate and influence outcomes.

When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
