Product Quality Engineering's (PQE) vision is to Deliver quality products and solutions to our customers to meet their quality expectations from day one.

PQE is the Trusted Partner within Supply Chain Operations ensuring Quality is a Competitive Advantage by driving End-to-End Quality Management and Improvement.

As a member of the Product Quality Engineering (PQE) team, the candidate will be assigned specific Cisco product technologies and utilizing their EE or CE background will deliver solutions that improve product quality.

The PQE will be responsible for New Product Introduction Quality, Factory Quality, and Field Quality, as well as driving systematic quality improvements, while working in close engagement with internal partners and external customers. PQE Responsibilities include:

  • Ownership of product quality for assigned product family.
  • Factory Yield performance management to factory quality goals.
  • Ensure New Product Introductions meet quality requirements through phase gate reviews.
  • Perform data analysis to detect subtle trends and identify root causes to drive continuous improvement activities and increase Customer Satisfaction.
  • Manage quality issues to resolution through a fault isolation, root cause, and corrective action / preventative action (CAPA) process.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to provide quality information and make recommendations.
  • Response and closure to Customer critical issues.
  • Be the voice of Customer and champion Quality in a dynamic environment
  • The person in this position will be required to serve as a Team Leader for key projects, and also serve as a key contributor in multiple cross functional teams.
  • Act as a Technical contributor with the ability to communicate complex technical details.
  • Constantly look for and identify systemic process improvements across multiple Business Units thinking "Out of the Box".

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Desired Degree: Bachelor's Degree (BE/B’Tech/etc) or Equivalent industry experience
  • Desired Major: Electronics & Communication or Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • Preferred 8+ years Experience in Quality, Electronics manufacturing assembly and test technologies
  • Data driven analysis skills a must
  • DMAIC/Six-Sigma methodology Knowledge a plus
  • Effective cross-functional communication (verbal and written). Excellent interpersonal, team skills and presentation skills. Collaborate with internal and external executives via executive summaries and project status overviews.
  • Strong background in problem solving, decision-making, and influencing. Ability to influence key business or technical strategies that have cross-functional impact and/or significant worldwide impact.
  • Ability to effectively drive and implement new processes, process improvements, corrective preventive actions.
  • Ability to lead multiple technical projects. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, handle programs, and lead teams.
  • High level of motivation and energy.
  • Ability to work independently.

When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Applicants may not be eligible for the full salary range based on their U.S. or Canada hiring location. U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community. Employees are also able to purchase company stock through our Employee Stock Purchase Program.

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
