Meet the Team
The Enterprise Routing & SD-WAN business, one of Cisco's largest business groups by revenue, profit and contribution margin, is looking for a Senior product manager to assist in creating and managing Secure Routing platforms and software products.
Your Impact
In this role you will manage the Secure Routing platforms (HW/SW), SD-WAN and Routing technology areas, customer relationships, sales engagement, work closely with manufacturing, and finance and should be able to influence the organization towards their vision. We're seeking someone with a passion for explaining complex technologies and translating those into simple, succinct, and compelling business value propositions at the executive level. Additionally, this role requires a demonstrated ability to think innovatively to connect the dots as well as analytically to enhance impact. Further, the Product Manager will develop commercial solutions, define product requirements, user interface design, use cases, and work collaboratively with engineering leaders to set development prioritization and drive ground-breaking innovation.
Role & Responsibilities are listed below:
- Drive technical and new product requirements and product enhancements
- Develop product roadmaps and strategy
- Ensure interoperability across product lines
- Ensure cross-functional product positioning is clear and consistent
- Examine new market and technology trends and propose action
- Conduct competitive feature, price/cost, and margin analysis
- Lead product launches and transitions, including delivery to the field, partners, and indirect channels
- Build and review press releases, launch materials, customer presentations and sales training materials
- Collaborate cross-functionally on competitive selling, pricing, market development and field solutions
- Identify and drive marketing programs, including creation and execution of migration/upgrade programs, direct marketing, advertising, promotions, seminars, press and analyst tours.
- Partner with Business Development to define technology and business agreements
- Forecast product demand (unit, bookings, revenue) and market share
- Participate in resolution of customer satisfaction issues by working with account team and engineering to understand issues and propose solutions
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of recent product management experience within the networking industry
- 5+ years of experience with networking technologies such as routing, SDWAN, security, SASE or similar
- Experience with working on hardware or software features in SD-WAN/Routing or similar solutions
- Experience with competitive analysis and building product strategy/collateral to bring value to customers
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong written and oral communication skills; Executive presence
- Creative and an out-of-the-box thinking to drive compelling solutions to problems
- A shown ability to bring clarity to complex and ambiguous technical topics
- Proven consolidated knowledge & experience in IP, Software Defined Networking and Core Network deployments.
- Experience with crafting product and solution requirements and positioning, messaging, collateral including datasheets, technical and business presentations
- Leadership experience in coordinating matrix organizations and successful with cross functional product coordination and planning
- Show flexibility to work in a fast paced, ever-changing, deadline-driven environment
- Able to travel Domestic / International ~10%
- Engineering bachelors' degree and MBA or equivalent graduate degree or equivalent experience
- CCIE Certification

When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday (for non-exempt employees), plus a day off for their birthday. Non-Exempt new hires accrue up to 16 days of vacation time off each year, at a rate of 4.92 hours per pay period. Exempt new hires participate in Cisco’s flexible Vacation Time Off policy, which does not place a defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use, but is subject to availability and some business limitations. All new hires are eligible for Sick Time Off subject to Cisco’s Sick Time Off Policy and will have eighty (80) hours of sick time off provided on their hire date and on January 1st of each year thereafter. Up to 80 hours of unused sick time will be carried forward from one calendar year to the next such that the maximum number of sick time hours an employee may have available is 160 hours. Employees in Illinois have a unique time off program designed specifically with local requirements in mind. All employees also have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community.
Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:
.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;
1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;
1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
