Your Impact
Web architectures are evolving rapidly, and the ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of current datacenter frontend, AI backend, Data center Interconnect, Backbone and Web-Edge network roles. The focus is identifying and specifying forward looking hardware and software solutions for these customers.
As the Principal Technical Product Manager, you will be responsible for the entire product lifecycle—from idea inception and prioritization to driving engineering execution and maintaining roadmap communication with customers. At Cisco, Product Managers are seen as leaders, empowered and trusted to be the voice of the customer.
We are looking for a candidate with the following qualities:
- Previous experience working with or for Webscale companies in roles or functions related to product definition, design, test or validation.
- Solid background and understanding in network system design and the tradeoffs involved in defining new products.
- Solid background in a diverse set of technologies that are the key building blocks to define the desired portfolio, to name a few: high-speed optics, coherent pluggables, silicon-design principles, liquid cooling, high-speed SerDes, system design, amongst others.
- Ability to provide customer use-case examples to engineering and serve as the primary liaison for customer feedback, requirements, and R&D.
- Ability to collaborate, lead, and perform under pressure both in front of the customer and internal R&D teams.
- A strong sense of product ownership paired with an innate curiosity that allows for continual learning and sharing of new networking concepts and customer requirements.
- Ability to translate these into clear and concise product requirements and craft business cases that can be objectively prioritized.
- Participate in the industry events to drive the product messaging and strategy.
- Partner with the broader marketing and sales team to amplify product messaging and drive market success.
Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
- 7+ years of experience in Product Management or equivalent role (Systems Architect, Technical Marketing, Solutions Engineering, etc.).
- 5+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Service Provider Networking, Data Center Networking or experience directly with Webscalers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters or Advanced Degree in a STEM field.
- Consistent track record of managing multiple issues and initiatives simultaneously.
- Strong analytical abilities to deconstruct sophisticated problems into manageable pieces.
- Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with key team members and articulate complex issues clearly.
- Ability to collaborate, lead, and perform under pressure in a fast-paced matrix organization.

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;
1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
