Meet the Team

You will be working alongside our Partner Account Managers and Partner Business Development Specialists to help build Partner practices and engage with our partners to drive Sales Acceleration. Building executive relationships and earning partner’s trust to lead with Cisco is core function of this role.

Your Impact

As a Partner Solutions Engineer, you will help lead and develop Cisco’s technical strategy with our Canadian Partners. Cisco’s solutions are the underpinnings of our partners’ and customers’ transformation. We will be building on the strategic areas of Cisco’s Enterprise Networking, Security, Cloud and AI Infrastructure and Collaboration portfolios to drive growth in the business.

  • Develop and deliver on technical strategies across the base of partners
  • Partner with the Canadian Partner Organization in support of our channel partners
  • Maintain broad technical knowledge with the ability to define solutions that span across product boundaries
  • Develop relationships with and influence key partner executives and technical leads
  • Enthusiastically engage partners involved in strategic deals and co-develop outstanding, differentiated offerings
  • Keep current on technologies and technical trends, and share these with the Cisco Partner team
  • Provide partner technical leaders and executives with customized technology & solutions presentations and whiteboard discussions
  • Collaborate with key partners on architecture disciplines and best practices via blogs, VODs, WebEx sessions, partner-based architecture groups and TOIs
  • Establish relationships with internal technical and sales leadership team, Cisco's Business Units, product lines, and associated product managers
  • Be proactive, self-starting, punctual, responsive, and available in your engagements and communications to partners, peers, and extended team members and engagements
  • Support Cisco culture by sharing technical, professional, and sales skills and knowledge with others

Minimum Qualifications :

  • BS/BA (EE/CS) or relevant Pre Sales experience.
  • 5+ years Cisco product experience or relevant experience in key competitor offerings in technology area of emphasis required.
  • Baseline SE skills and in-depth knowledge in at least one specialization in either Data Center, Collaboration, Security or Route/Switch/Wireless.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CCNP – CCIE strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years Networking and/or Security experience.
  • Strong prioritization skills with proven track record of driving results.
  • Ability to establish and maintain partner relationships at the executive / business decision maker level.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the capacity to deliver a compelling message to a diverse audience.
  • You are passionate about the partner experience and excited about new technology. You are a true teammate and love to learn.
  • Strong understanding of Cisco’s product set as well as understanding of the competitive landscape.
  • You show technical knowledge and consultative skills and ability to work effectively and contribute to the extended team.

For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday (for non-exempt employees), plus a day off for their birthday. Non-Exempt new hires accrue up to 16 days of vacation time off each year, at a rate of 4.92 hours per pay period. Exempt new hires participate in Cisco’s flexible Vacation Time Off policy, which does not place a defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use, but is subject to availability and some business limitations. All new hires are eligible for Sick Time Off subject to Cisco’s Sick Time Off Policy and will have eighty (80) hours of sick time off provided on their hire date and on January 1st of each year thereafter.  Up to 80 hours of unused sick time will be carried forward from one calendar year to the next such that the maximum number of sick time hours an employee may have available is 160 hours. Employees in Illinois have a unique time off program designed specifically with local requirements in mind. All employees also have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community.

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.

Share
