What You'll Do

As the Optics Transceiver Test Development Engineering Leader/Manager, you will engage early and work closely with R&D, design engineering, systems integration and software/firmware teams on new technologies and product concepts. You will also manage your test team in platform architecture and test set developments and characterizations for high-speed optical technologies. You will manage/drive New Product Introduction activities to qualify test sets and software and prepare them for mass production. You will oversee data from wafers, components, modules, and sub-systems, in order to develop efficient end-to-end test flows and processes.

Your scope will include developing measurement methodology and software scripts, automated data analysis techniques, and optical and electronic test tools at greater than 100 Gb/s data rates in a production environment.

In this role you will work in a fast-paced work environment and drive and support your team in the development of measurement methodologies, software scripts, automated data analytics, and optical and electronic test equipment at greater than 100 Gb/s data rates for full production. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

. Work with a team of engineers and scientists to develop and bring to manufacturing new test capabilities and equipment required for new products.

. Define measurement methodology and automated data acquisition techniques to characterize high-speed optical transmitters, receivers and transceiver modules

. Perform experimental tests to validate and optimize prototype designs.

. Define production test requirements per product specifications, and execute test plans

. Scale-up design, and work with equipment vendors to qualify and specify test equipment.

. Use sound engineering practice and modeling techniques to design/develop test equipment fixtures and processes.

. Supply proposals for capital expenditure.

. Manage equipment installation and start-up, and transfer ownership to contract manufacturer for sustaining operations.

. Provide technical support and expertise during design, install, start-up, and preliminary production runs of new test processes.

. Provide technical training and expertise to operators during process implementation.

. Provide technical guidance during start-ups to observe, tackle problems, and detail any process or scale-up issues.

. Develop and track process metrics and drive process improvements.

. Work with product and quality engineers to monitor and resolve non-conforming material issues.

. Understand overall manufacturing test plans and execution of high volume manufacturing test strategies.

Who You'll Work With

Why Cisco

#WeAreCisco, where each person is unique, but we bring our talents to work as a team and make a difference. Here’s how we do it.

We embrace digital, and help our customers implement change in their digital businesses. Some may think we’re “old” (30 years strong!) and only about hardware, but we’re also a software company. And a security company. A blockchain company. An AI/Machine Learning company. We even invented an intuitive network that adapts, predicts, learns and protects. No other company can do what we do – you can’t put us in a box!

But “Digital Transformation” is an empty buzz phrase without a culture that allows for innovation, creativity, and yes, even failure (if you learn from it.)

Day to day, we focus on the give and take. We give our best, we give our egos a break and we give of ourselves (because giving back is built into our DNA.) We take accountability, we take bold steps, and we take difference to heart. Because without diversity of thought and a commitment to equality for all, there is no moving forward.

So, you have colorful hair? Don’t care. Tattoos? Show off your ink. Like polka dots? That’s cool.
