What You'll Do
As an Industrial Engineer that is a vital part of our operations engineering team, you will support fabrication, assembly, and test automation teams to define, justify, implement, and validate product/production flows and manufacturing equipment, tooling, and processes for the assembly and test of optical sub-components, components and modules.
In this role you will work in a fast-paced work environment and support your teams in modeling, defining, deploying and maintaining optical chip and module assembly and test infrastructure for full production including but not limiting to the following responsibilities:
. Work with a team of NPI engineers and scientists to develop and bring to manufacturing new equipment and processes capabilities required for the fabrication, assembly, and test of new products at the lowest costs and cycle times possible with good quality.
. Understand product designs and understand our internal teams’ and key equipment vendors’ process, equipment, and tools making capabilities.
. Understand high level capabilities and practices of wafer foundries, OSATs, and CMs e.g. what they do, how they do it, what we influence vs what we own.
. Develop and/or validate fabrication, assembly, and test process flows: for wafer foundries and OSAT partners – understand their practices and capacity limitations; for CM partners – intimately understand their practices and work closely with them on developing process flows based on floor layout limitations and product handling expectations.
. Monitor process and equipment KPIs (yields, UPH, DT) including utilization. Maintain list of equipment inventories in effort to maximize equipment reuse and utilization.
. Develop and maintain program by program product capacity models, drive capacity simulations based on different business scenarios, and determine capital requirements.
. Create proposals for optimized capital investments based on capacity requirements and excess equipment that can be repurposed.
. Program manage capital deliveries, equipment installation, and releases to production to expected timelines and capacity commitments program to program.
. Provide process flow expertise during process design, bring-up, and preliminary production runs of new processes.
. Provide guidance during bring-ups to observe, solve, and document any process or implementation issues.
. Drive continuous process improvements based on KPI targets and changes in business – e.g. increase in demand requiring expansion of capacity.
. Provide training on compliance monitoring to key factory personnel ensuring proper controls are in place at initial production and ramp.

In this role, you will be a key Optics Operations team member specifically supporting the Transceiver Module Group.
You will work with the the Optical Product Engineers, Process and Automation Engineering team and the Test Development Engineering team in defining, justifying, implementing, and validating product/production flows – ensuring the teams deliver on process and equipment performance targets.

You have 10 years working experience
On a manufacturing line. Specifically in optical components i.e. transceiver modules, or semi-conductor manufacturing with a high level understanding of assembly and test processes, equipment, and materials used. You have experienced with DfX, DOE, FMEA, gauge R&R, and problem-solving skills are your forte and you master the use of Statistical Tools and Software such as JMP and Mini Tab. You have knowledge of six-sigma, SPC and process capability, OCAP, written procedures, operator training, Kaizen or continuous improvement, and lean manufacturing techniques. You have a demonstrated record of failure analysis, yield and cycle time improvement and the ability to work with global multi-functional groups and external partners. You are strong in MS Office tools and even stronger in Excel but have also maintained with the times and have adopted cloud-based productivity tools such as SmartSheet, BOX, SharePoint or similar tools. Your strong communication in English and your influencing skills combined with the ability to lead, listen and be perceptive will be a strong asset for this role.
