What You'll Do
Cisco is growing its UCS Server portfolio with a new generation of servers crafted for AI training, inferencing, and AI edge use cases. We are looking for hardworking and skilled team members to join us on these exciting projects.
In this role, you will be part of the team responsible for developing and maintaining Operating System and Peripheral Support matrices for Cisco’s industry-leading UCS General Purpose and AI servers. You will have the opportunity to work hands-on with the latest advancements in server and storage technologies — including next-generation Intel and AMD processors, ground breaking GPUs such as Nvidia Blackwell and Hopper architectures, PCIe Gen 6 I/O adapters, and the newest storage solutions. Additionally, you will gain experience with Cisco Intersight, our cloud-based data center infrastructure management platform built on a modern microservices architecture.
Who You'll Work With?
This is an opportunity to join a dynamic team driving innovation in data center orchestration, automation, and product development. You will work closely with teams across engineering, product management, and customer success to help shape impactful solutions.
We are seeking a hands-on engineer who thrives in fast-paced environments, communicates optimally, takes ownership, and is committed to delivering customer value.
Who You Are?
You are a highly skilled engineer with deep technical expertise in data center and cloud-native technologies. You excel in fast-paced, startup-like environments and are motivated by the opportunity to drive meaningful business impact.
What distinguishes you is your passion for tackling sophisticated and unique technical challenges — not just to find solutions, but to innovate and push boundaries. You bring a strong product-oriented approach and thrive when collaborating within small, dedicated teams.
Minimum Qualifications
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically strong QA Engineer with a proven background in automation, server management, and operating system environments. The ideal candidate demonstrates a system-level focus while understanding the impact of individual components on the overall solution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct system testing across multiple operating systems (ESXi, Windows, Linux) and identify issues using sophisticated debugging tools, log analysis, and diagnostic techniques.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams to define the OS Support Matrix for Cisco UCS Servers and ensure OS functionality across the supported platforms.
- Work with OS vendors to stay aligned with their roadmap and ensure our OS support strategy for UCS Servers is up to date.
- Strong debugging skills in at least one operating system, such as Windows, ESXi, or Linux.
- Design and implement Python-based automation solutions to streamline testing processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce test cycle times.
- Plan, validate, and implement test cases to ensure OS functionality on UCS Servers, solving issues related to BIOS, drivers, or hardware.
- Drive improvements in regression testing and optimize test execution through meaningful metrics and analysis.
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement testing tools to optimize execution, coverage, and overall testing outcomes.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to resolve issues identified during testing and propose solutions.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- 6–10 years of strong hands-on QA experience in product testing for enterprise solutions.
- Hands-on experience with operating systems including VMware, Windows and Linux.
- Proven experience with Data Center servers, storage arrays, and networking protocols including FC, FCoE, and iSCSI.
- Exposure to a variety of automation frameworks and scripting tools.

Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Applicants may not be eligible for the full salary range based on their U.S. or Canada hiring location. Non-Exempt new hires accrue up to 16 days of vacation time off each year, at a rate of 4.92 hours per pay period. Exempt new hires participate in Cisco’s flexible Vacation Time Off policy, which does not place a defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use, but is subject to availability and some business limitations. All new hires are eligible for Sick Time Off subject to Cisco’s Sick Time Off Policy and will have eighty (80) hours of sick time off provided on their hire date and on January 1st of each year thereafter. Up to 80 hours of unused sick time will be carried forward from one calendar year to the next such that the maximum number of sick time hours an employee may have available is 160 hours. Employees in Illinois have a unique time off program designed specifically with local requirements in mind. All employees also have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community.
Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:
.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;
1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;
1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
