We have an exciting opportunity to join our leadership team as a Solutions Engineering Leader within our Global Security Sales Organization! We are searching for a highly motivated, entrepreneurial-minded technical sales leader who has a passion for delivering elite technology and services to protect our customers using capabilities delivered from the network, endpoint, and SaaS offerings for any cloud. This is an ideal position for someone who has validated leadership skills and related industry and technical expertise, to drive success with their team and regional peers. This role requires an ambitious, self-starter with the ability to build executive relationships, develop and execute sales strategies, articulate Cisco’s business value and technical capabilities, and drive the activities that makes deals happen.

 

Your Impact

In this role as a Security Solutions Engineering Leader, you will work closely with customers, partners, and regional leader in the Americas Service Provider, Hyperscaler, and Media industries, to develop and execute sales strategies that drive growth within the region. As part of the leadership team, you will partner with Security Sales Leadership and demonstrate both technical and business excellence, to meet revenue goals in the region.

As a technical leader, you will lead and mentor a highly motivated sales engineering team that has a passion to bring transformative technology to life for our customers and partners. You and your team will develop solutions using the breadth of our Cisco security portfolio for any environment using our Identity, Cloud, Network, and XDR capabilities. You are responsible for the recruitment and development of your team, as well as performance management and development of them, to position Cisco's security solutions effectively against competitive offerings and be trusted advisors for our customers and cross-functional teams.

 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • 3+ Years of Pre-Sales Engineering leadership
  • 5+ Years of experience as a Pre-Sales Engineer 
  • Knowledge of and experience with cyber security trends in the market and customer space, including new products and solutions

Preferred Qualifications 

  • 3+ Years of experience working with Service Provider, Web, and Media organizations in a Pre-Sales capacity
  • 3+ Years leading teams in the cyber security industry
  • A consistent track record of high performance and strong leadership skills
  • Ability to articulate security architecture integrated with other technologies (cloud, networking, datacenter)
  • Demonstrated experience aligning go to market initiatives to trends in the security industry
  • BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent is highly preferred
  • Working knowledge of the Cisco portfolio, and demonstrated knowledge of the Cisco Security portfolio
  • Working knowledge of the Splunk portfolio and ability to articulate its value alongside Cisco Security capabilities
  • Knowledge of cyber security trends in the market and customer space, including new products and solutions
  • Strong collaboration, influencing and facilitation skills, have proven ability to influence and lead outside of organization and across roles and functions
  • Ability to provide thought leadership to customers and partners based on short and long-term business and industry drivers.
  • Strong executive presence and proven ability to present strategic information to a wide range of audiences

For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings.

Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday (for non-exempt employees), plus a day off for their birthday. Non-Exempt new hires accrue up to 16 days of vacation time off each year, at a rate of 4.92 hours per pay period. Exempt new hires participate in Cisco’s flexible Vacation Time Off policy, which does not place a defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use, but is subject to availability and some business limitations. All new hires are eligible for Sick Time Off subject to Cisco’s Sick Time Off Policy and will have eighty (80) hours of sick time off provided on their hire date and on January 1st of each year thereafter.  Up to 80 hours of unused sick time will be carried forward from one calendar year to the next such that the maximum number of sick time hours an employee may have available is 160 hours. Employees in Illinois have a unique time off program designed specifically with local requirements in mind. All employees also have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community.

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
