Jr. Accountant, Global Accounting & Reporting (GAR)

What you'll do
You will ensure that the Financial Statements are maintained in accordance with U.S. GAAP and Cisco accounting policy. You will perform Month-end Financial Close activities including driving the pre-close review of the balance sheet accounts and certain general ledger and consolidation close functions.
In addition to the above:
- You’ll need to understand internal financial reporting and perform the US, Canada and Consolidated financial statements analysis.
- You’ll drive policy compliance for close related accounting policies.
- You’ll work closely with many other functional finance teams who book entries on the U.S. and Canada ledger and particularly with the shared services (Accounting Operations) team, which delivers accounting services to our team.
- You’ll understand the systems and applications integral to the close and their interdependencies.
- You’ll participate in critical cross-functional initiatives which contribute to systems and process standardizations and enhancement including optimization opportunities.
Who you'll work with
The Corporate Controller Group (CCG), is comprised of several groups that are committed to supporting business processes with a high level of integrity and credibility through developing, influencing and implementing global financial policy and process and effective partnering. The specific group that you will belong to is the Global Accounting & Reporting (GAR)/ US & Canada Controllers Group which supports virtual close, earnings release and SEC filing and partnering with functional groups across the Company.
Who you are
You will bring a proven ability to work with all levels including our Senior Management team with a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and application to a broad range of areas. You are highly motivated with the passion to work towards solutions and results with a problem-solving approach and to work across organizations to resolve cross-functional issues. You have strong organizational skills; ability to work multiple priorities in parallel. 2+ years of accounting experience
