What You'll Do

The position requires understanding of Cisco products functionality and how multiple technologies interact with one another. Strong IPv6 knowledge is ideal. The candidate must be able to communicate any issues clearly to various business units and team members in order to get any issues resolved quickly and effectively. They will be required to provide detailed documentation, lessons learned, and transfer certification-related knowledge. This includes translating IPv6 technical requirements into product requirements across multiple BU's, testing Cisco products internally against Interoperability and RFC Compliance certification requirements, identifying product gaps, reporting defects to Engineering, and supporting the test team through the certification phase that takes place at the test facilities. Follow through on issues identified during test with the product teams to insure any deficiencies are worked to closure. Direct communication and input with Product Managers to understand product roadmaps.

Individual must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Who You Are

  • Located in RTP, NC
  • Expertise in TCP/IP, IPv4, IPv6
  • Knowledge of IPv6 Best Practices, Testing and Migration
  • Knowledge of IPv6 implementations - native, dual-stack, tunneling etc
  • Familiarity with IPv6 industry forums - USG, IPv6 Ready Logo, NIST, DoD
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco Routers, Switches, Wireless and Security devices
  • Experience with supporting tests, and providing resolutions to issues

Detailed knowledge of IPv6 related topics:

  • Addressing
  • Employing IPv6 native, IPv6/IPv4 dual stack, and IPv4-only enclaves.
  • Internet Protocol Security (IPSec) and Certificate and Key Distribution Services
  • IPv6 RFC's
  • OSPFv3
  • BGP4+
  • Project management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to build and maintain cross functional relationships
  • Proven track record to work in team oriented environment
  • Ability to independently manage and track deliverables
  • Ability to clearly explain solutions to non-technical stakeholders
