About Us

Cisco is on a mission to build a unified community strategy and experience that encompasses all user audiences, products, and business units globally.

About the Role

In this role, you will own and advocate for the growth and health of our Developer Community – keeping a constant pulse on each one of our audience’s motivations and needs and will partner across teams to focus on growing and engaging the community, developing high quality community programs and content, measuring success of the community, and more!

We are looking for an experienced, curious Developer Community Leader who loves and has proven success building programs that grow, engage, enable, and celebrate thriving and inclusive developer communities.

This is a remote role!

You will craft and oversee the successful execution of all Cisco Developer Community Programs, including:

  • Create and execute on the community strategy, programs, roadmap, and success metrics.
  • Plan the strategy and oversee the execution of community events globally and throughout the year.
  • Partner with the Content and Product teams to develop a community content strategy. Manage and execute on that strategy.
  • Work cross functionally on community engagement strategies.
  • Moderate, listen and engage regularly with our outstanding community members, providing them with any support and resources they need.
  • Constantly gather feedback from the community and bring those insights to the appropriate internal teams.
  • Find opportunities to surprise, delight, and show our community members how much we appreciate them.
  • Facilitate an inviting, helpful, and honest community culture that represents the best of Cisco Developer.
  • Measure, analyze, and track community data, providing regular reporting throughout the company and influence to key priorities.
  • Manage all internal and external community documentation.
  • Build community onboarding and offboarding processes.

About You

  • 6-7+ years in Community Management with experience scaling Community Programs and 8-10 years relevant work experience.
  • Ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams, and champion new ideas.
  • Deep understanding of the motivations and challenges of developers as well as developer communities.
  • Proven track record defining and executing global developer community programs that drive key outcomes.
  • Track record of creating engaging digital, community, and event communications and experiences.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with enterprise development technologies, programming languages and cloud native approaches.

#WeAreCisco, where each person is unique, but we bring our talents to work as a team and make a difference powering an inclusive future for all.

We embrace digital, and help our customers implement change in their digital businesses. Some may think we’re “old” (36 years strong) and only about hardware, but we’re also a software company. And a security company. We even invented an intuitive network that adapts, predicts, learns and protects. No other company can do what we do – you can’t put us in a box!

But “Digital Transformation” is an empty buzz phrase without a culture that allows for innovation, creativity, and yes, even failure (if you learn from it.)

Day to day, we focus on the give and take. We give our best, give our egos a break, and give of ourselves (because giving back is built into our DNA.) We take accountability, bold steps, and take difference to heart. Because without diversity of thought and a dedication to equality for all, there is no moving forward.

So, you have colorful hair? Don’t care. Tattoos? Show off your ink. Like polka dots? That’s cool. Pop culture geek? Many of us are. Passion for technology and world changing? Be you, with us!
