Cisco People & Communities (P&C), formerly Human Resources, is inspiring today's talent for tomorrow's Cisco. We are developing people strategies that create an inclusive future for all by focusing on developing Cisco's talent, leadership, culture, and organization.

A key element of our P&C talent development strategy is our full-time P&C rotational program, comprised of recent college graduates participating in rotations in a variety of P&C functions over a period of two years. All rotation placements are tied to immediate business needs identified by Cisco’s P&C Leadership Team and are enhanced by further leadership opportunities within the program. The community offers a highly collaborative and supportive environment for early-in-career individuals, and this internship is a gateway into the full-time program.

Team Description

In our unique, 12-week summer internship, students engage with a community of peers while gaining exposure to various P&C functions. Interns balance an individual assignment on a P&C team as well as a team project. In the team project, interns partner with one another to research, analyze, and propose creative solutions to a top business priority, culminating in a read-out to the P&C Executive Leadership Team. The intern experience is supplemented with learning and development, mentorship, and team bonding opportunities with the full-time members of the rotational program.

Who you are:

  • You’re actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree at an accredited university. We welcome interns from all educational backgrounds who have an interest in HR. In fact, individuals in our program have degrees in psychology, political science, organizational behavior, music, business management, environmental studies, sociology, and more.
  • You’re on track to graduate in 2022
  • You’re a team player who values diverse perspectives
  •  You’re a strategic thinker with the ability to analyze data and influence others

  • You’re innovative, comfortable in ambiguous environments, and willing to take risks

  • You’re self-aware, curious, and passionate about learning

  • You have previous leadership experience and demonstrates excellent time management, project management, problem solving, and communication skills
  • You’re willing to relocate to Cisco's headquarters in San Jose, CA for the summer internship
  • Able to legally live and work in the country for which you’re applying, without visa support or sponsorship
