You will design and implement new ways of tracking down threat actors and infection vectors using  a variety of Machine Learning techniques, often modified or invented inhouse to tackle unique problems of data scale and complexity. The impact of your work will affect millions of users across the globe. We support our team members to publish at scientific and industrial conferences and to continuously learning new skills. We are a bunch of 5 former startups collectively called Advanced Threat Solutions and we keep an agile, fun, passionate upstart culture within Cisco. You will work in an international environment in downtown Prague, Czech Republic, closely cooperating with teams spanning across Prague, CZ, Silicon Valley (San Jose), CA, Calgary, Canada, and London, UK. We balance collaboration and integration with autonomy and innovation to deliver the most effective solution to our customers’ problems. The unique mix of our disruptive approach to security and Cisco’s industry dominance surpasses what any other security startup could ever achieve on its own.


Who You Are

We are looking for a Machine Learning Scientist to join our team of scientists, engineers and threat researchers that builds and maintains the core threat discovery engine of Cisco Cognitive Intelligence, and are passionate about doing cyber security at global scale.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • cooperate to invent, design, develop and evaluate innovative models on very-large-scale data

  • help design and implement scalable, efficient, automated Machine Learning pipelines

  • participate at innovation end-to-end from idea to implementation

  • cooperate closely with software engineering teams and customers to maximize impact

  • be ready to learn specifics of cybersecurity data analytics

  • communicate results through blogs, customer-facing reports, participate at scientific papers and conference talks

Desired Skills:

  • MSc level command of one or more of the following Machine Learning fields: supervised, semi-supervised or unsupervised learning, explainability of models, advanced statistics, graph theory, game theory

  • excellent logic and problem solving capabilities

  • passion to get the right stuff done and make things work

  • fluent English

  • software engineering experience a plus
