What You'll Do

The Global Real Estate Strategy Portfolio Program Manager (PMO) will be a key leader in the Cisco Workplace Resources (WPR) organization and will report to the Senior Director of Real Estate Strategy and Planning. This leader will oversee real estate portfolio management and provide strategic program, and process improvement as Cisco modernizes and optimizes its real estate and workplace environments around the globe. This leader will develop and drive key portfolio optimization strategies, accelerate and manage the delivery of large-scale, critical initiatives across WPR and cross-functionally across Cisco. The PMO of Global Real Estate Strategy will work with Client Relationship Managers, Global Space and Occupancy and Theater Planning teams to develop, streamline and launch real estate, location and talent strategies for Cisco in the new Hybrid world. This role will work collaboratively across the WPR leadership team, as well as with our partners in People, Policy and Purpose (HR), Finance, Digital Enterprise Solutions (IT), Corporate Security, Corporate Communications, Legal, and Government Affairs. The ideal candidate has a combination of real estate, finance, consulting and program management experience and has a keen understanding and passion for Strategy, Innovative Problem Solving and Process Improvement.


  • Drive portfolio planning initiatives including Site Modernization and Optimization Plans and Hybrid work strategies, that align with Cisco’s talent, tech and financial goals and aligns with the new hybrid world
  • Partner with Finance to transform and manage a new Real Estate and Capital Financial approval process, that aligns business cases with a view for the total cost of ownership, and drives the best outcomes for Cisco:
  • Transform the current funding approval process and tools and streamline an end to end process, that includes consistency and clarity across business case development and scenario analyses
  • Partner with Global Planning and Finance on transforming an allocation process to align with Hybrid work
  • Prepare executive updates for WPR activities including to our internal Real Estate SLT, Business Leadership, Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors.
  • Lead and streamline real estate data analytics, working with WPR operations to create new benchmark and balanced scorecards that drive Hybrid work, utilization, talent strategy and Site Modernization
  • Lead program management for complex, highly visible, large-scale, groundbreaking cross-functional Real Estate and partner initiatives
  • Lead cross-functional teams with members from WPR and other collaborators and partners to deliver programs on schedule
  • Build trusted relationships with key Real Estate and cross-functional partners to understand key business objectives and help partner with subject matter experts to establish strategies, priorities and help operationalize them across the WPR organization
  • Create, design, get consensus and implement transformational process improvement in key areas

Who You Are

  • Demonstrated track record of developing and fostering effective relationships across all levels of the organization and with diverse internal partner groups
  • Ability to support and drive major initiatives across a diverse, geographically dispersed, multicultural environment
  • Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills; must be an articulate and persuasive communicator with executive presence
  • Understanding of corporate real estate process
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and decision-making skills: demonstrated ability to structure complex problems, develop solutions and have a strategic and analytical approach
  • Ability to develop and communicate the portfolio objectives, inspire and motivate distributed teams and maintain alignment to the business strategies
  • Effectively collaborate across multiple teams within Real Estate to gather data from multiple sources and analyze requirements and distill and convey a clear message
  • Excellent analytical skills - both planning and financial
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong leadership skills with consistent track record to lead and develop teams
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively in a team environment, and maintain composure under deadline pressure
  • Ability to operate in a high impact, fast-paced environment

  • Flexible and comfortable pivoting quickly
  • Strong general business acumen (finance, operations), with an ability to distill complex issues and convey them with clarity in a straightforward manner.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to drive alignment across multiple constituents and client groups
  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance and/or Business Administration related. Consulting experience a plus
  • 8-10 years’ experience in Real Estate, Consulting, Finance and Program Management Roles
