You will ensure product quality from New Product Introduction (NPI) to End of Life (EOL), with a focus on early engagement in the design process to optimize manufacturability and quality. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including design, component, process, test, and reliability engineering, you will address challenges and implement quality best practices and metrics at First Customer Ship (FCS). In addition, your focus will be on quality improvement, process optimization, and technology readiness for sustaining products as well.
MEET THE TEAM
You will collaborate with Product Operations teams, Engineering, Global Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain Transformation, Service & Logistics and with CM partners as key collaborators, to address quality challenges, implement best practices, and proactively prepare for new technologies and product introductions.
YOUR IMPACT
You have a proven ability to build relationships and effectively influence peers and management with your strong communication skills. Your proficiency in written, verbal, and interpersonal communication allows you to make a significant impact. You excel in managing a broad scope of responsibilities and effectively adapt to changing priorities. Your strong sense of ownership and integrity makes you an ideal fit for this role. You will also drive initiatives beyond core quality responsibilities to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our Technical Product Operations community. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Supply Chain, Component Engineering, GSM, Hardware Engineering) to influence component selection, implement risk mitigation strategies, and ensure technology readiness.
- Lead quality issue resolution, governance, and documentation within the PLM process, ensuring closed-loop feedback and continuous improvement.
- Present and advocate for quality improvements within the Product Operations community, evaluating process capability, and exploring value engineering and circular economy opportunities.
- Drive cost avoidance, sustain quality improvements, and proactively assess Cisco's product and component roadmap to identify and address potential manufacturing challenges.
Minimum Requirements:
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant/related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Electrical Engineering/Electrical Product Engineering or a related field, with a focus on hardware and manufacturing processes.

- Experience in identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex quality issues within a manufacturing or engineering environment. Must demonstrate a strong understanding of root cause analysis techniques and the ability to implement effective corrective actions.
Preferred Qualifications:

All new hires are eligible for Sick Time Off subject to Cisco’s Sick Time Off Policy and will have eighty (80) hours of sick time off provided on their hire date and on January 1st of each year thereafter. Up to 80 hours of unused sick time will be carried forward from one calendar year to the next such that the maximum number of sick time hours an employee may have available is 160 hours. Employees in Illinois have a unique time off program designed specifically with local requirements in mind. All employees also have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:
.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;
1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;
1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
