We are seeking a Product Manager to join us in making new security innovations a reality in a fast-paced and dynamic start-up-like environment! You will work with Customers, UX, Engineering, Marketing, and other functions to build products and services that delight and engage our customers. Your responsibilities will be end to end, from problem discovery and user story refinement, all the way through to delivering delightful solutions that customers love.
We are looking for someone who can work with an excellent team to own customer problems and define customer outcomes, support their position with customer, competitor, and sales data, and work effectively in a highly distributed team environment. It’s in our culture to learn, adapt, and improve, so you’ll be someone who isn’t afraid to try new things.
What You’ll Do
Work in a fast-paced start-up-like environment defining innovation in security. You’ll distill a vision into a compelling roadmap that focuses on solving customers' complex security problems and delivering measurable customer outcomes.
- Identify customer problems, and work closely with UX and Engineering to develop customer solutions aligned with product roadmap goals.
- Analyze and break-down complex business problems into discrete user stories with clear acceptance criteria
- Work with engineering and UX teams to deliver user stories, ensuring the product delivered meets the customer's needs.
- Prioritize the product backlog, with regular reviews.
- Validate requirements and resulting products with customers and design partners to ensure success.
- Develop product success metrics and structure an effective experimentation framework in partnership with our research team.
Who You Are
- Start-up mentality: You thrive in a start-up-like environment.
- Technical Acuity: You will work closely with engineering to understand technical trade-offs and their impact on the product. Being comfortable with networking and security technologies is an asset.
- Product Sense: Our favorite product managers bring together insights from every corner (customers, engineering, design, and go-to-market teams) to design and focus on excellent product experiences.
- Curiosity: Understand that creativity and growth start with a curious, humble attitude and asking thoughtful questions.
- Ownership: The best product managers take the responsibility of delivering a successful product to heart, and step in wherever needed, even if crossing typical role boundaries; they never shy away from the details nor lose sight of the bigger picture.
- Communication: Effective communication with any audience (company leadership, engineering, customers, and more) is key to success in this role.
- Attitude & Ambition: You are inquisitive, hard-working, competitive, and not afraid to fail. They are a team first but willing to take the lead with minimal guidance and supervision.
- You are a passionate and ambitious Product Manager, experienced in delivering customer value and working with distributed engineering teams.
Minimum Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in Product Management experience with networking and security products in the datacenter space
- 5+ years experience with full stack datacenter offerings, including software and hardware
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Passion for great products with phenomenal experiences, and you believe in product simplicity.
- Experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria and are comfortable letting your written words speak for you across teams and time zones.
- SaaS product knowledge
- You're a strong champion of lean startup principles, user experience, and design thinking.

When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Applicants may not be eligible for the full salary range based on their U.S. or Canada hiring location. The recruiter can share more details about compensation for the role in your location during the hiring process.
U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community. Employees are also able to purchase company stock through our Employee Stock Purchase Program.
Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:
.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;
1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;
1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
